A must-have Bruce Cockburn's best: digs deep without trying too hard, eloquent, lyrical, heart-breaking, embracing, musically adventurous and accessible. By TSanford (Brooklyn, NY)
Wonderful, simply wonderful! The music, the playing, the voice & THE LYRICS make this an essential purchase. Cockburn peaked during this period - no more so than when releasing this one. The remaster is nice, very nice. Mandatory purchase from one of music's true artists. By brian (Dublin, Ireland) This review is for a different format.
Lyricism and Activism Humans, an album full of great songs, gives you the best of Bruce Cockburn's worlds. While Rumours of Glory reflects Cockburn's folk lyricism from the seventies, Grim Travellers foreshadows his political activism of the eighties. The idealism and spirituality of a great artist are crystallized in What About the Bond. Cockburn has been called the Canadian Bob Dylan; perhaps, Dylan should be called the American Bruce Cockburn. By Riff (St. Louis, MO, USA) This review is for a different format.
