My Angelic Deamons album
$19.25 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan chooses to sing on CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART, a cheerfully old-fashioned holiday album from its Norman Rockwell-esque cover to its joyous backing vocals. Apart from the breakneck "Must Be Santa," which barrelhouses like a barroom, Dylan doesn't really reinterpret these songs as much as simply play them with his crackerjack road band, dropping in a little flair -- restoring "we'll have to muddle through somehow" to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," singing the opening of "O Come All Ye Faithful" ...

| | Slayer World Painted Blood Vinyl LP (2009)
My Angelic Deamons album
$17.35 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN IN BLOOD; it shared the earlier album's ferocious aggression and trademark speed metal-meets-hardcore sound. Throughout, the sound is lean and mean, with bassist/vocalist Tom Araya's vocals mixed relatively dry and upfront, giving the album a bracing, fist-to-the-face force. Jackhammer tracks ...

| Brand New Daisy Vinyl LP (2009) Dli
My Angelic Deamons CD music
$16.89 Brand New's ability to jump between quiet textures and grating, full-throttle passages has been the centerpiece of several albums, but the Long Island boys revisit that formula once again with DAISY. The band's fourth LP begins rather formally, as a classical piano plays beneath a female's prim and proper vocals. Drums, screams, and squelching guitars eventually gatecrash the piano recital, but the effect isn't jarring as much as it is familiar, a tell-tale sign of a band not quite ready to ditch its old habits. Yet despite DAISY's familiar tricks, the band's rage is still fairly convincing, and a handful of slower songs hint at what may lie ahead for future albums. ...

My Angelic Deamons music CDs
$22.15 This three-track 1971 reissue of the debut by German electronic band Faust features "Why Don't You Eat Carrots" and a live version of "Miss Fortune."
The impact of Faust cannot be overstated; their debut album was truly a revolutionary step forward in the progress of "rock music". It was pressed on clear vinyl, packaged in a clear sleeve, with a clear plastic lyric insert. The black X-ray of a fist on the cover graphically illustrates the hard core music contained in the grooves, an amalgamation of electronics, ...
| | Traffic John Barleycorn Must Die Vinyl LP (1970) Reissue
My Angelic Deamons songs
$16.89 Although JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE was originally intended as Steve Winwood's post-Blind Faith solo debut, Winwood and producer/label head Chris Blackwell first drafted Jim Capaldi to provide lyrics, and then Chris Wood dropped by to add his familiar reeds, and almost by accident, Traffic was reborn.
This was a different, and better, Traffic than the ill-fated quartet lineup with Dave Mason, which never entirely settled on an artistic direction. The sound of JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE, on the other hand, remained the template for the rest of the reunited band's career--long, organically developed songs with a subtle jazz-rock feel, powered by Capaldi's percussion ...
| | Fairport Convention What We Did On Our Holiday Vinyl LP (1969) Deluxe Edition
My Angelic Deamons album
$16.19 An album that revels in an embarrassment of influences which the band bind, making their own. This was the Fairport that ran with the psychedelic underground, flexing their muscles, a slumbering entity about to wake. This was their beatnik phase, producing such evergreens as Sandy Denny's beautiful 'Fotheringay', the first tangible examples of electrified trad in 'Nottamun Town' and 'She Moves Through The Fair' - neither song, incidentally, British. More significantly, Richard Thompson began to move in his own mysterious way, gifting 'Meet On The Ledge' which has since become their signature. Variety, as they say, is the spice of life and this collection ...
