Rhodes:Dean Amundson (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar)Jeff Amundson (Drums, Percussion)Derek Matter (Lead Guitar)Mike Flynn (Bass)Rhodes is a 4-piece indie rock band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Their music blends a variety of sounds inspired by such genres as 90’s Brit-Rock, Alternative, and Modern Rock, all predicated upon classic rock fundamentals, which result in driving modern rock anthems with a melodic core.To date Rhodes has released a self-titled 7 song debut EP, produced by Phil Anderson at Powersound Studios, which was followed by a successful CD release party along with numerous bigger venue gigs as well as a few smaller venue gigs including open stages and house parties. Their debut EP can be found online through various distributors such as CD Baby, ITunes, Napster and many others. Formally established in 2007, Rhodes consists of brothers Dean and J.J. Amundson, their childhood friend Derek Matter and newcomer Mike Flynn. All four members of Rhodes were born in Edmonton and raised on hockey, music, mischief, and revelry. Growing up in the cultural mixing pot that is Edmonton’s south side, each member of Rhodes brings a wealth of diverse musical and artistic influences to the band. Along with their instruments the four members of Rhodes combine effortlessly into a single unit to form the most solid of tunes which induce toe tapping, warm ears, and flutter hearts. The cohesion between all members of Rhodes was evident from the start. All being self taught musicians and self made men, there is a refreshingly raw and unique vibe in Rhodes’ music.Rhodes current objective is to expand their fan base locally and regionally through gigging and abroad through the World Wide Web. While weaving their way into the Edmonton music scene, they are creating new material and a definite buzz amongst their fans.Rhodes ultimate goal is to make great music and to play it as loud as possible, for as many people as possible. Their incredible drive and work ethic is evident in their desire to constantly improve themselves while satisfying their fans. Armed with raw talent, clever song writing skills, a maddening dedication and passion for music, Rhodes are without a doubt on their way to achieving this goal. | 1. | The Rhodes Main Theme |

Rhodes album
$5.99 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each track offers at least one musical hook, whether it is the beauty of 'Human Nature' (who can resist the 'dada dada da da da') or the 'whoo whoo' of 'Billie Jean'. It's all too good.
Principally recorded at Westlake Audio, Los Angeles, California.

| | Slayer World Painted Blood CD (2009)
Rhodes CD music
$10.39 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN IN BLOOD; it shared the earlier album's ferocious aggression and trademark speed metal-meets-hardcore sound. Throughout, the sound is lean and mean, with bassist/vocalist Tom Araya's vocals mixed relatively dry and upfront, giving the album a bracing, fist-to-the-face force. Jackhammer tracks such as "Hate Worldwide" and "Psychopathy Red" are short, no muss-no fuss blasts of double kick drum, minor key-riffing fury, with an unrelenting intensity that requires little in the way of sonic or textural variation. The title track, on the other hand, is a somewhat slower dose of classic chugga-chugga head-banging which showcases Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman's shrieking, emotive guitar work. Remaining true to Slayer's defiantly old school sound, WORLD PAINTED BLOOD carried the torch for pure thrash.

It's always a sign that a group is hot if they release a holiday album mere months after their debut. That's the case with *NSYNC. Their debut was released in America in late March, and in early December, Home for Christmas hit the shelves. Much of the album is devoted to newer material, with only a handful of songs qualifying as standards: "The Christmas Song," "The First Noel," and "O Holy Night." All of it is given the familiar *NSYNC sheen, alternating between slickly produced adult contemporary ballads and lite dance-pop. Fans of the group will certainly find it reasonably enjoyable, even though it makes it clear that the group simply can't rival such peers as the Spice Girls or the Backstreet Boys in terms of charisma. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Elvis Presley ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Remastered
Rhodes songs
$10.39 Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing and includes Hollywood legend Al Jolson ("Are You Lonesome Tonight?"), New Orleans soul shouter Smiley Lewis ("One Night"), blues great Big Mama Thornton ("Hound Dog"), and country titan Hank Snow ("[Now And Then There's] A Fool Such As I"). Further testimony of Presley's long-lasting appeal is the inclusion of the JXL Radio Edit Remix of "A Little Less Conversation," a UK #1 that not only enabled Elvis to have more chart-toppers than The Beatles, but also became a hit in a number of other countries including the United States.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

| | Chickenfoot CD (2009) Digipak
$12.85 In true old-school "supergroup" fashion, Chickenfoot is a hard-rock dream team. Composed of vocalist Sammy Hagar (Montrose, Van Halen), bassist Michael Anthony (Van Halen), drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, the combo grew out of a few impromptu jams, but the combination was judged strong enough to record an album and go on tour. The resulting disc is a full-throttle, unapologetic rock record, brimming with the same party attitude and sense of fun that made Van Halen so legendary. From the "Boris the Spider"-esque locomotive descending riff and manic screams that drive "Oh Yeah" to the screaming guitar solos and pounding drums of "Get it Up," these songs showcase veteran musicians having the time of their lives, playing the type of music they know and love best.
Chickenfoot: Sammy Hagar (vocals); Joe Satriani (guitar); Michael Anthony (bass guitar); Chad Smith (drums).

Guided, perhaps, by musical snobbery or roots-rock phobia, some people inexplicably don't like Creedence Clearwater Revival. As the kings of earnest country-inflected rock in an age when radical stances were de rigueur, CCR sported straight-ahead tunes, and may have seemed a bit unhip. But their music stands the test of time with a vengeance. For the doubtful listener, this outstanding, 20-track hits collection has evidence of their greatness in staggering abundance.
Though they produced several excellent albums, Creedence was predominantly a singles band, and CHRONICLE compiles many of their biggest hits. From the slowly building saunter of "Suzie Q" and the spooky, R&B-soaked "I Put a Spell on You" to the fierce "Fortunate Son" and the swampy blues of "Run Through the Jungle," CHRONICLE features the ensemble's signature tunes. Beautifully melancholy songs "Who'll Stop the Rain" and "Someday Never Comes" play off sunny, melodic anthems "Down on the Corner" and "Lookin' Out My Back Door," fully revealing the band's wide range. The group's tight, no-frills musicianship leaves John Fogerty's keening voice and superb songwriting at the fore, and the results--brought together here on one of rock's best greatest-hits packages--make for some of the genre's most endearing and enduring music.

| | Cal Tjader Tjader Plays Tjazz CD (1954)
$13.95 In a change of pace, for this recording vibraphonist Cal Tjader recorded cool-toned bop without a Latin rhythm section. Half of the ten songs (mostly jazz standards) feature Tjader switching to drums (his original instrument) in a quartet also including the obscure trombonist Bob Collins, guitarist Eddie Duran and bassist Al McKibbon. Tjader is back on vibes for the quintet selections with tenor saxophonist Brew Moore, pianist Sonny Clark, bassist Eugene Wright and drummer Bobby White. He sounds right at home in both formats and the swinging quintet numbers in particular are a good reason to search for this valuable album. ~ Scott Yanow

| | Grant Davis No Caution CD (2008)
$15.09 Grant Davis is from Kennesaw, Georgia just outside of Atlanta. His music is sort of like that; Southern-rooted country just outside of a wild rock and roll. Kirk Boyer of Lyric Street Records is quoted saying, \"Grant Davis possesses a powerful, confident, edgy, contemporary, country vocal style. Grant can rock with the best of the country, southern rockers only to draw you in a new direction with a vulnerable love song. Furthermore, Grant delivers his material with passion, precision, honesty, attitude and conviction.\"In this first album, \"No Caution,\" Grant delivers us a variety of styles that all seem to come together as one. From good rocking modern day country like \"No More U in Us\" to a Nascar tribute theme song, \"No Caution\" to a brand new genre he likes to call Countribbean (con-TRIB-bean) in the song \"Count on Me\" with Caribbean star, Khamelien to a classic falling in love song, \"I Fell for That.\" Grant\'s \"No Caution\" has opened the crossover country world to a brand new height.Grant has spent his life in entertainment from award-winning stage actor to musician to writer. With the help and support of his producer/engineer Joe Smith (who produced or engineered \'NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, She-Daisy, Khamelien, and many more) Grant created this knock out album. He has been visiting the Bahamas all his life and frequents Rum Cay Island the most hence his label\'s name.
