Moving Off CD music
$9.99 By late 1966, it seemed as if every TV commercial and every pop arranger had latched onto the Herb Alpert "Ameriachi" sound -- at which point the resourceful originator of that sound began to pare it down and loosen it up a bit. S.R.O. (Standing Room Only), referring to the Tijuana Brass' string of sold-out concerts, is an accurate title, for this LP is about a seven-piece band loaded with experienced jazzers who groove and swing together to a greater degree than on their previous albums. Sure, the arrangements are very tightly knit and don't allow much room for spontaneity, but they still sound fresh and uninhibited, and Alpert often allows the flavor of jazz to come through more clearly. Indeed, two of the album's three hit singles, "The Work Song" and "Flamingo," are jazz tunes -- the former nervous and driving, the latter joyously kicking -- and the ...

$20.99 | | Ted Wulfers Drivin' Barefoot CD (2007) Double CD
Moving Off album
$25.29 Ted Wulfers releases brand new Double CD Drivin’ Barefoot!!Ted Wulfers has just released his long anticipated acoustic themed double album Drivin’ Barefoot. Produced & Engineered by Wulfers, these 24 original songs showcase some of Ted’s best lyrics and arrangements to date with moods and stories unparalleled in modern CD releases. This double CD is so cool, comfy, fun, vibey and chill that it should be illegal! To achieve the quality of acoustic cool and vibe on this double CD, Drivin’ Barefoot was completely recorded at home in Ted’s home studio with a handful of additional overdubs recorded in the attic of drummer Jeff Kelly, the living room of engineer David Rieley and a couple of tracks at Mad Dog Studios (Burbank), Gravity Studios (Chicago), Big Twin (Nashville) and 615 Studios (Nashville). Wulfers played almost ALL of the instruments on the songs and brought in Kelly to play drums on a few cuts, Chris Lawrence to play pedal steel, Mark Lonsway to sing backing vocals and Jessica Rae to play fiddle. Former Beggar’s Bridge bandmember/singers Adam Brunelle, Michelle Robinson and Brooke Oberwetter appear playing and singing on the two songs recorded at Denison University back in 1999. Drivin’ Barefoot was mixed at home by David Rieley and mastered by Richard Dodd. Disc One kicks off with the beautiful and emotional "Born on Coney Island," which is the real life story of Ted's Great Grandfather. The CD continues with fan favorites "Valentine's Day," "Sunnyside Up" and "Imperfections." The rockin' "Carl Rogers Blues" and title track "Drivin' Barefoot" give Disc One some good drive and feature some of the catchiest lyrics and guitar licks Ted has ever written. "Breakfast In Bed" lends a humorous “countrified” homage to the Some Girls era Rolling Stones and "She's So Lovely" is pure Petty meets Young meets Buffett. "Pourin' Out My Heart" was recorded in 1999 and shows us a younger Wulfers singing in falsetto and playing fantastic slide blues guitar. ...
