When a genre-defining group like Metallica, whose past albums have rocked the charts with virtually no airplay, enlists the aid of a hit-making producer like Bob Rock, the result is bound to be monumental. METALLICA, their sixth studio release, surpasses all expectations. METALLICA is an extremely heavy album. It carries a presence, a huge, live sound different from that heard on their previous recordings. ...See Full Description

| Super Nice!! Got this LP set the other day, its nice, comes with 4 LP's in a nice Black Box, its totally different from the CD version, same music but the singing is more aggressive. its really nice, worth the money.if you like Metallica you gotta have this. By Mike (Bradenton,Florida) |
| A good choice for the uninitiated I'm not a big Metallica fan, but I consider The Unforgiven to be one of the greatest metal songs of all time (if not one of the greatest rock songs of all time). It is my understanding that the majority of fans consider Master of Puppets to be the bands greatest achievement, however this disc is without a doubt a highpoint. | It doesn't get any better This album is not only one of Metallica's best (my favorite), but also one of the best heavy metal albums ever, by anybody. Reading any negative reviews makes me laugh. There's more to great music and great metal than just speed. Metallica does it all here. If I could keep only one of my Metallica albums, (perish the thought!), it would be this one. | metallica fall from grace. I've been a metal fan since i was eight years old, thats twenty too years of listening to metal. This has to be the worst record ever.metallica did not try with this one. The black album song titles enter sandman, a mute person could come up with better titles.they lost their anger and aggression that metal should be. It is not a metal record. It was too commercial a money maker i blame lars for that a real metal record should blow you away heavy riffs double bass druming ect this record has nothing. metallica done this to themselfs as the song goes so close no matter how far well it was not close and it was far off the title of a metal record By tierneydeb (Dublin, Ireland) This review is for a different format. |
| The Greatest Ever This album is, in my opinion, the greatest album ever. Others are close, like Led Zeppelin 4 or Jimi Hendrix-Band of Gypsies, but none can compare to the perfectness of this album. If you think Metallica have sold out, then you are missing a lot of great stuff. and to tell the truth, since limp bizkit and korn are the most popular bands these days, why havnt metallica just milked that cow? anyhow, they will always be my favorites no matter what anyone says. and this album is them at thier finest.
