Roadrunner United: The Concert DVD

On December 15th, 2005 in New York City, Roadrunner Records celebrated its 25th anniversary with the metal concert to end all metal concerts. 39 musicians, representing 25 different Roadrunner bands, performed 25 songs from 19 different bands' repertoire. Each song was studiously rehearsed and arranged, and came together in exuberant perfection. The label recruited a core team of musicians (Dino Cazares, Adam Duce, Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Andreas Kisser and Roy Mayorga). More than a celebration of Roadrunner, this DVD represents the gathering of a community of musicians that spans the last 25 years of heavy metal history, from King Diamond to Slipknot and beyond. This DVD presents that concert in its entirety, along with a documentary of interviews with may of the artists involved, looking back on the event, and sharing their stories about one special night. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Roadrunner--one of the most influential heavy metal labels--gathered the biggest names in the genre for a concert of epic proportions. The show, recorded in New York's Nokia Theater, featured 39 musicians from 25 Roadrunner bands, including Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Sepultura, and King Diamond, playing together in a powerful display of rock and roll collaboration. This live release includes an in-depth documentary that features backstage footage and interviews with nearly all of the various players.
