Does it even need to be said?
Maybe you caught on with "The One I Love;" maybe "Man on the Moon;" it doesn't matter. Go back and experience R.E.M. 's first album.

Beauty, power and passion
This is like melody heaven, Beatles meets the Who or vice versa. Peter Buck becomes the new Peter Townshend and Michael Stipe the anti-Daltrey with his back to the audience, as they take on the world with the prettiest amplified guitars and harmonic textured vocals with smart cryptic lyrics that you could ever desire.

MURMUR is my fav
A unique sound discovery that gets better with age. They only sounded like this on murmur and the after release, but earlier made chronic town.
