| | Razorlight Slipway Fires CD - Import Razorlight Discography of CDs
International pressing features 11 tracks. After releasing two of the most popular indie albums of the 00s, Razorlight return for their third in the shape of 'Slipway Fires'. Typically dramatic and epic in its expressions, this release is slightly more bombastic than before, and incorporates a rawer, edgier rock dynamic. Recorded after a period of isolation and creative rest, lead singer Johnny Borrell took his band to the Inner Hebrides to fuel the renewed creative process, resulting in this anthemic collection. Features the single 'Wire To Wire'. Slipway Fires Review

Slipway Fires album
$33.75 The Small Faces present their four disc U.K. import reissue release OGDEN'S NUT GONE FLAKE.
Having begun their career as the archetypal Mod band, the Small Faces latterly embraced traces of flower-power's whimsy. Astute enough not to sacrifice their identity, the quartet retained a distinctive perspective, as evinced by a string of superb pop singles, including "Here Comes The Nice" and "Itchycoo Park." A sense of pop melody and adventurism culminated on this album which encompassed tongue-in-cheek fun ("Lazy Sunday") and passionate love songs ("Afterglow"). Steve Marriott's voice remains completely self-assured and the group's characteristic organ-based swell is often enhanced by P.P. Arnold's emotional backing vocals. Eccentric comedian Stanley Unwin narrates the concept suite "Happiness Stan," but the music is strong enough to ...

Slipway Fires CD music
$26.79 Indie undergrounders turned grebo heroes turned pop monsters the Wonder Stuff's alternate history is revealed via their British radio appearances on BBC Sessions. We first meet the Stuff in late 1987, playing a quartet of songs recorded for Radio One DJ Janice Long, all of which would reappear on their debut album The Eight Legged Groove Machine. At the time, the group were already ferociously finding their stylistic feet, and an insouciance worthy of the Small Faces helped lay the foundation for the entire Brit-pop movement to come. By the summer of 1991, when the Stuff recorded their next radio session, they were already huge stars, and their pop transformation was complete. A year later, the BBC caught them ...

| | Lloyd Cole Live At The BBC, Vol. 1 CD (2007) England
Slipway Fires songs
$12.79 Live at the BBC, Vol. 1 gathers all of the BBC radio sessions recorded by Lloyd Cole & the Commotions around the time of their instant classic debut album Rattlesnakes. (Vol. 2, released at the same time, contains the sessions related to second album Easy Pieces and a full 1986 live set recorded at that year's Glastonbury Festival.) Opening with a pre-LP set on Saturday Live -- signed to a major label almost as soon as they were formed, they were never indie enough to rate a Peel Session -- the first three songs are the sound of a band in its tentative stages. Opening with a cover of Television's "Glory" makes their major influences just a bit too clear, and on both "Patience" and debut single "Perfect Skin," Cole's oddly mannered vocals clash a bit with the band's uncharacteristically ragged sound. By the time of a four-song set on the Richard Skinner set, Cole's vocals are much improved and the band's playing is considerably tighter; only the stripped-down arrangements of songs like "Rattlesnakes" ...

| | Rachel Harvey What Are You Lettin' In? CD (2005)
Slipway Fires music CDs
$17.75 Rachel Harvey has literally been in ministry all her life. Not only did she grow up in a pastor\'s home, but from the time she was 3 years old, she would travel with her family, as The Wisehart Family Singers, to churches where they would sing, preach, and testify to the glory of God. While in her high school French class, Rachel began to feel the Lord calling her to be a missionary to the French culture, so after graduation, she attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri with a double major of Missions/Bible. After completing four and a half years of study, she was married to Michael Harvey, who also was called to be a missionary to the Spanish culture. They began a life of ministry in a variety of capacities: youth sponsor, youth pastor, associate pastor, and even have ministered as lay-ministers. At one point, they traveled with another couple as the Southern Gospel quartet, Lifeline. In June of 2004, they felt the Lord calling them to Florida to help their pastor start a new work in the Kissimmee area. With their burden for the Spanish culture, they are right in the middle of their calling. At age 15, Rachel developed vocal nodules which greatly limited her singing ability. To compensate, she began to play the piano more and became a prolific songwriter. She feels that God has inspired every song she has written and that they were meant to be heard by the world. Her songwriting style ranges from Southern Gospel to Contemporary Christian, she\'s even written \"rap\" and created lyrics to classical music. Some of her songs have been said to \"meddle\", but Rachel feels that as a Christian, \"we are to provoke one another to righteousness.\" Holiness is one thing that she feels God has called her to sing about. \"I hope to help people really ask themselves the question-does the way I\'m living my life really measure up to what God asks of me?\" Two years ago Rachel self-released her first project \"What are You Lettin\' In?\" She also has completed a second project, now on CDBaby, called \"The Purity Project\" which is two songs she wrote (one for a girl to sing and one for a guy to sing) regarding sexual abstinence before marriage. It includes high/med/low tracks so that the young people can ...
