Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; Special Edition Oscar-winning Disney musical about Mary Poppins, a British nanny with magical powers. She arrives at the home of the Banks family, and with her magical abilities transforms the lives of the entire clan. Mary's strongest influence is over the Banks' children, whom she introduces to a world of fantasy. Film features many classic songs, among them "Chim Chim Cheree." and "Supercalifragilisticexplialidocious." A magical, musical nanny brings a breath of fresh air into the stuffy Banks household in turn-of-the-century England. Overstuffed with gaiety, this children's fantasy is filled to the brim with wonderful dance numbers and outrageous songs (such as the seemingly unpronounceable "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"). The film's seamless blending of live-action with animation was a marvel in its day. This is Andrews' film debut and Darwell's last film appearance. Academy Award Nominations: 13, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best (Adapted) Screenplay. Academy Awards: 5, including Best Actress--Julie Andrews, Best Original Score, Best Song ("Chim Chim Cher-ee"), Best Editing, Best Special Visual Effects. Gold Collection Edition features "Hollywood Goes to a World Premiere." Film debut for Julie Andrews, who won an Academy Award for her performance.
Author, P.L. Travers, served as a consultant on the film.

Mary Poppins Reviews: "[T]he Poppins character was played to comely perfection by squeaky-clean Andrews, who won an Oscar."
-- Premiere Staff, Premiere "[Andrews] openmouthed, eyebrow-cocked expressions became perfect embodiments of Mary's cheeky charm."
-- Steve Daly, Entertainment Weekly "Mixing real-life action with animation to charming effect, it is still Julie Andrew's iconic performance that remains this film's cheeriest pleasure..."-- Empire Staff, Empire Mary Poppins | List Price | $29.99 (You save $6.54) | | Studio | Buena Vista Home Entertainment | | Orig Year | 1964 | | DVD Encoding | Region 1 | | All Time Sales Rank | 28305 | | CD Universe Part number | 7794316 | | Catalog number | 10044900 | | Discs | 2 | | Release Date | Jan 27, 2009 | | Rating | Not Rated | | Running Time | 139 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Anniversary Edition; Dubbed | | Movie Details | Color; Dolby Surround Sound; Collector's Edition; Widescreen; Anniversary Edition; Dubbed; 45th Anniversary Special Edition |

Mary Poppins DVD
$12.09 Music and lyrics written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. Principal cast includes: Jennifer Barnhart, Natalie Venetia Belcon, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Jordon Gelber, Ann Harada, Rick Lyon, John Tartaglia. Recorded at Right Track Studio, New York, New York on August 10, 2003. "Avenue Q has not been authorized or approved in any manner by the Jim Henson Company or Sesame Workshop, which have no responsibility for its content," reads a disclaimer found, among other places, inside the CD booklet for the original Broadway cast album of Avenue Q. It's an important statement to keep in mind, because, in essence, the show, with songs by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, who are also credited with the "original concept," asks what would happen if you crossed the children's television series Sesame Street with the gritty, urban Broadway musical Rent. Or, to put it more plainly, suppose all the puppets on Sesame Street had potty mouths? What if, for example, Bert and Ernie (or, as they are called here, Rod and Nicky [John Tartaglia and Rick Lyon]) were closeted gays ("If You Were Gay")? What if Cookie Monster (sorry, Trekkie Monster [Rick Lyon again]) craved not baked goods, but pornography ("The Internet Is for Porn")? And what if Miss Piggy's name was, instead, Lucy the Slut (Stephanie D'Abruzzo)? It's fair to say that the viewer and listener's reaction to Avenue ...
