Though his singing career has largely taken a back seat to his hugely successful run at the box office (starring in Oscar-winning roles such as 2004's RAY), Jamie Foxx has had his feet planted in both artistic camps since his seldom-heard 1994 debut, PEEP THIS. Continuing his breakout 2005 album UNPREDICTABLE's seductive blend of romantic R&B-balladry and smooth bedroom jams, INTUITION finds Foxx upping the tempos and electronic treatments, with the intent of translating his hit-making formula for club audiences. Enlisting a Grammy-pedigreed cast of producers and guest artists, including T.I., Lil Wayne, and T-Pain, the album benefits from its star-studded rotation of guest spots--serving as able hype-men or nimble rhymesmiths on material that could, otherwise, have been fairly middling relationship fodder. On the lead single, "Just Like Me," Foxx's smooth, synthetic croon rides confidently over an appealingly bouncy melodic hook while T.I.'s roughneck swagger provides gritty contrast. While INTUITION lacks some of the immediate pleasures of Foxx's Kanye West-produced collaboration with Twista, "Slow Jamz," it still packs enough surprises and twists to keep it in good stead with 2008's other big album by a fellow R&B singer-turned-actor, Beyonce.

My sister searched high and low for dis album and um glad she got it. Um not a real big fan of R&B but Jamie did his thang on this. Gotta give it 5 starz. Its gon be talked about for a while.

BUY the cd its a hit!
I had to buy the album after hearing a sample. I didnt know how he could top the first album but every song is a hit. my fav are "slow","dont need it", "digital girl" and "blame it"...so trendy!

The Cd is Perfect after track 6, Track 1-6 is not like jamie foxx. It doesn't sound like his original style, its like he's trying to be something else, thats not for him. But From Track 7 to the end of the cd its great it's actually goes back to the style that fits him.

I think that Jamie Foxx is the strongest male singer (R&B) in the industry today. Most of his songs are lyrically strong and seem to be very emotional based on what the song is trying to portray. Being a songwriter myself, that's very important.
Jamie will continue to go very far in this business.

MYK GORDON:Following Inspiration to Musical RebirthThe road to Myk Gordon's latest album, The Real Thing, has been a long and varied one. It has led to the last place the Vancouver singer-songwriter might have expected: a new beginning! musical and artistic self-reinvention.As well as a musician, Myk has been a truck driver, a social worker, a journalist, a waiter, a film set dresser, a youth educator, a producer and director of film and video, and a mental health counselor. He holds a black belt in Ki Aikido, a Japanese art of mind/body coordination. He is also a committed social activist on issues such as homelessness, native justice/autonomy, prisoners' rights, environmentalism and anti-globalization, and has spent time in jail for political activity. This kaleidoscope of life experiences has informed his musical development in fascinating ways. Myk grew up in a musical family - his father once sat in on upright bass with Dave Brubeck, his aunt was a concert pianist at age 12. The sountrack then was as varied as his own life would prove: West coast jazz, Bach, the 60s spiritual blues of Odetta and Richie Havens, 70's singer-songwriters like David Bowie, Cat Stevens and Paul Simon! and later the giants of soul and R&B that would resurface so unexpectedly in his creative mind: Stevie Wonder, Al Greene, Sam & Dave.
