Nadia Kobelak has always been a music enthusiast. She comes from a very strong musical background as she has been studying music since the first grade on the piano. As a young musician, she started singing and writing her own songs, applying all her professionally acquired knowledge of different genres of music. Nadia has been performing vocally for the past four years at different venues around Toronto and has just completed and released her first CD. Nadia is not limited to a specific genre of music. She sings freely to anything that moves the crowd. Her singing style is pop, hip-hop, & dance. Her tunes are upbeat and energetic. Her music is a gentle blend of English and Ukrainian originals and folk songs that catch attention of audiences of all ages. Nadia’s professional sound has been reached with help of her friends and family. The newly released CD has been met with very favourable critique. NIGHT CASTLE appears just in time for the big 2009 holiday season but don't be fooled: this isn't a Christmas album, even if it's sonically indistinguishable from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other seasonal releases, and the fact that it's been dubbed "Capra-esque" certainly brings it within the realm of the season. NIGHT CASTLE brims with all the drama, pomp, and circumstance of Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other records but channeling these traits through a newly created narrative does have the effect of hearing it in a somewhat new light, shifting the focus entirely to the band's attack, not melody. Still, there's not that much new here -- and the coda of seasonal covers, including the first sober version of "Nutrocker" ever cut, doesn't do much to break that spell. But for those already enchanted by the Orchestra, this will continue to enthrall.
