| | Fiona Joy Hawkins Blue Dream CD Fiona Joy Hawkins Discography of CDs
Blue Dream is a 70 minute suite of music written by Fiona Joy Hawkins, produced by Grammy winner Will Ackerman (Founder of Windham Hill Records) and recorded at Imaginary Road Studios on a Steinway B. Featuring guest performances by Luka Bloom, this album goes from quiet contemplative piano to full orchestral, to world sounds, rhythms, jazz influences and back again to the perfect 'Bach' moment - all in a breath. Blue Dream can best be described as World Fusion Piano. An exquisitely captivating musical journey from start to finish. Vibrant, Sensual, Haunting. Blue Dream is an unforgettable magic carpet ride into the heavens. I am so proud to have been a part of Fiona's special world....' T-Bone Wolk, Producer Arranger (Hall and Oates)Fiona Joy Hawkins is an Australian Composer and Pianist who crosses genres. From Contemporary Classical, to World, Jazz and New Age, her four albums have claimed many International awards and are available in most records stores in Australia and the US. After charting at #1 on the World New Age Radio Charts (across 9 countries) for all her releases to date, she took out the prized Best Piano Album in the NAR Lifestyle Music Awards in 2006 and made the finals in two genres for the LA Music Awards in 2007. Also, a finalist five times in the MusicOZ Awards and winner of a Piano Heaven Award (for being one of the top 30 Best ever piano albums), she hopes that Blue Dream will be the album to really break through Internationally. 'Fiona Joy Hawkins plays with great imagination and beauty. Every measure of this sensitive recording is carefully considered, it takes the listener on a wonderful journey' Bob Ludwig, Gateway MasteringAs well as Luka Bloom and Will Ackerman, Blue Dream includes performances from some of the best instrumental artists in the world including T-Bone Wolk (Hall and Oates), Heather Rankin (The Rankin Family), Eugene Friesen (Paul Winter) and Jeff Haynes (Pat Methany) and many more. \"Fiona Joy Hawkins' BLUE DREAM began as the most ambitious project of my entire career and resulted in one of the most remarkable collaborations this genre has ever known. The scope of what we contemplated in the beginning was so vast as to be nearly paralyzing, but with Fiona's talent, both as a composer and player, and a group of musicians of world-class caliber, a 67:50 suite of music resulted. The music itself spans a broad range of styles and ethnicities and yet (though we didn't know whether we'd succeed until the very end) is magically cohesive. It works! Never has faith been more rewarded. In the process we restored meaning to a word which has been sorely abused; Blue Dream is unique and I'm as proud of it (and Fiona) as anything I've ever worked on in my 35 year career of Grammy Awards and gold and platinum records. \"Will AckermanWindham County, Vermont2008For more info: myspace /fionajoyhawkins or http:// youtube /user/fionajoy or fionajoyhawkins .au

| | Sherman Kelly Burnin' The Candle CD (2008)
Blue Dream songs
$16.45 Sherman Kelly\'s Biography(According to Sherman)I was born in 1943 in Washington DC but grew up outside of Boston. My father was a professor of city planning at MIT. I had two brothers and two sisters. The Kelly household was constantly filled with music. Everyone played the piano and some played other instruments. We were fortunate to be influenced by a rich and eclectic mixture of music, including jazz, calypso, blues, Afro-Cuban, European and Eastern European, South American, South African, and a wide range of classical music. My mother studied piano at the New England Conservatory and wanted me to study classical piano She started to give me lessons but when I was six years old she discovered that I was pretending to read music but was really playing by ear. We had a major disagreement and I quit the piano. At age 15, a friend taught me some blues and boogie woogie and I have been playing ever since. When I was an undergraduate at Cornell University, I joined a great rock and roll band called the Oz & Ends. We played every weekend at fraternity parties and at bars around Ithaca, NY. Dave Robinson, who later sang the hit version of my song \"Dancin in the Moonlight\" for King Harvest was the lead vocalist and played bass in the band. Eddie Tuleja, the guitarist, also went on to play with King Harvest.I graduated from Cornell in 1967. In 1969 I played in the band Chin, with Dave Robinson, Eddie Tuleja, Jim Tunick and my brother Wells. Our manager and close friend Alex Brooks opened a nightclub in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands where we played for months. We were the first amplified band to play on the island of Tortola in the British Virgins. On a trip to St. Croix in 1969, I was attacked and beaten by a gang who later went on to murder three American tourists. I suffered multiple facial fractures and other wounds and was left for dead. While I was recovering, I wrote \"Dancin in the Moonlight\" in which I envisioned an alternate scenario of a peaceful and joyful celebration of life. I recorded the song later that year with the band Boffalongo featuring Larry Hoppen on guitar, Dave Robinson on bass, Pete Giansante on drums, Wells Kelly on Timbales and me on keyboard and lead vocal. Boffalongo hit the charts with \"Dancin in the Moonlight\" and toured extensively. In 1971, Alex Brooks set up another nightclub in St. Thomas called The Grass Shack. Larry Hoppen, Bob Leinbach, Milton Jay, Wells Kelly, Paul Lisseck and Bobby Simone, the former road manager for The Mama\'s & The Papa\'s, and a host of other friends made the club a big success. Boffalongo continued to play in the Caribbean. In 1972 Wells and Larry joined John Hall to form the band Orleans. I moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts where I scored educational films. In 1973, while meditating with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at a teacher training course in Spain, I was notified that my old friends Dave Robinson, Eddie Tuleja, Rod Novak and Ron Altbach of the band King Harvest had a big hit with ...
