Ranjit Fernandez is originally from the east-coast town of Montrose in Scotland and has recently returned to the area after working in Qatar since 2000. In 2003, with the encouragement of Anthony Curtis (formerly of BOOM, anthonycurtis.

net), he started composing and recording his music using a home-studio unit. Initially the songs were developed under the Unkle Fezter's Ear Project title and a triple CD album was produced. Hand-made CDs were sold in Qatar and abroad. The idea behind the music was to develop and present 3 genres of music simultaneously, each working on different moods and emotions. Songs in the 'Pierced' section are rock/metal orientated whilst 'Lobe' is the acoustic-driven collection presented as the 'soft' easy-listening alternative. 'Prostheses', as the name may suggest, is the experimental ambient/dance section working with loops and samples. Songs inspired by Qatar featured on his first retail release entitled Pearls. Excellent reviews resulted in a distribution deal in Qatar.

Pearls is an album of 8 instrumental tracks inspired by the artist's experiences of living in Qatar. Being instrumental, there are no language or cultural barriers. This was the first release of a CD by an expatriate resident in Qatar and received the attention and praise of the Qatari Royal Family.

Following this, 3 further albums were released the next year. The albums include the triple CD Unkle Fezter's Ear Project; the ambient CD Corpus and the stress-relief CD called Relak-sashen.

In 2008, Ranjit released his 'eco' album, Plastic People. This album once again features tracks from a variety of genres.

Silliness runs rampant on Dennis Driscoll\'s third LP, titled Voices in the Fog. He hails from Ilwaco, Wash.

, though, to do some regional typecasting, most of his songwriting leans more toward the whimsical side of Athens, Ga. pop. The opening, carefully plucked notes of \"Sarah Jane, Pt. II\" carry a strong resemblance to those of \"Bleeker Street,\" while the vocals waver in and out of key and follow a charming childish ode to a young lady friend. While it may be easy to reminisce about the last great Of Montreal songs after slipping Dennis Driscoll into the player, Voices in the Fog is deeply sad-sounding at times, taking full advantage of minor chords and curious accompaniment.

\"Telepathic Birdcalls\" features a duet with Olympia\'s Mirah and a ghostly track that trails alongside the vocals in the song\'s backdrop. The songs primarily consist of guitar and Driscoll\'s childlike vocals, but the occasional stringed instrument appears and adds color to an otherwise meandering tale, such as in \"Waitress and Sailor.

Since forming in 2005, Wintermitts have delighted and accumulated loyal fans across Canada. Their last album, Cascadia Fault (2007), was released independently in Canada to massive appeal, and with their whimsical exuberance they have shared the stage with acts such as Julie Doirion, You Say Party!We Say Die! and Laura Barret. They completed a national summer tour in 2007 and were featured at Sackville, New Brunswick's famous SappyFest.
