$9.99 Reduced to a duo (Natalia Jiminez and Angel Reyero) by 2009, La 5a Estation (the Fifth Station) retained their pop fullness on the buoyant SIN FRENOS. An adventurous LP, SIN FRENOS ranges from the retro-'80s American rock of "Que Te Queria," to the 10,000 Maniacs-echoing "Mis Labios Por Tu Pierno" to the bolero pop of "Te Quiero." A half-decade after breaking into the Latin pop mainstream with their second album, Flores de Alquiler (2004), La ...

DOS MP3 Album
$13.85 Los Fabulosos Cadillacs: Senor Flavio, Sergio Rotman, Vicentico (vocals); Dany Lozano (trumpet); Mario Siperman (piano, keyboards); Fernando Ricciardi (drums). Audio Mixer: Robert Carranza. Since the mid-1980s, Argentina's Los Fabulosos Cadillacs have been important contributors to the Rock en Espanol movement, and have enjoyed a prolific career and international success with their unique blend of rock, reggae, ska, samba, and other diverse elements. After an almost seven-year hiatus, the band returned in fine form with 2009's LA LUZ DEL RITMO, which gathers five new songs and a handful of new recordings of older material that capitalizes on the rich stew of influences. Their percussion-heavy sound also lends itself perfectly to two covers--an infectious version of the Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" and an imaginative reworking of an old Ian Dury song. The mournful original "Basta de Llamarme Así" features the languid bass of co-founder "Senor" Flavio Cianciarulo, and a devil-may-care vocal from band mainstay Vicentico. One of the best and most popular acts of the 1990s in Latin America, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs split in 2002. Six years later, perhaps encouraged by the wild success of the 2007 reunion of fellow Argentine superstars Soda Stereo, Los Cadillacs are back again with a new album, a new tour, and plans for at least a few new live releases, including an MTV unplugged set. True, there have been signs that the band has reconciled their differences (notably between the two leaders and main composers, singer Vicentico and bassist Flavio Cienciaruto), as LFC reunited first in 2006 to record a song for an Andrés Calamaro tribute album, and again in 2007 for an informal acoustic radio show. The untimely death of percussionist Gerardo Toto Rotblat in March 2008 was a heavy blow (the album includes a tribute to his memory in "Nosotros Egoístas"), but it also seemed to pull the band closer to what they originally were, a bunch of friends wanting to have fun together. The new lineup is the most streamlined of the band's history, only six members to the usual nine, but five of them (Cienciaruto, Vicentico, Sergio Rotman, Mario Siperman, and Fernando Ricciardi) were all founding members, and the sixth, Daniel Lozano joined for their second album, so unquestionably ...
