The sprawling three-disc set captures all of the groups many shades, from the melancholy, dulcet tones of "Proudest Monkey" to the full-out rocking version of the combo's first big hit, "Ants Marching." Other highlights include a spirited cover version of "Sledgehammer" on which Matthews sounds eerily like Peter Gabriel, and a rousing eight-minute take on Sly Stone's funk classic, "Thank You (Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Agin)."
