Nuns Of Saint Archangel DVD

Behind the convent walls of St. Archangel, the Mother Superior is dying. And there are three eager candidates with selfish motives waiting to take over her duties, including Mother Giulia (Anne Heywood, THE NUN OF MONZA). All three wish to take control of land owned by the church for the benefit of their respective families. When the Mother Superior is poisoned, Mother Giulia assumes the role. It's not long before everything comes crashing down around her in an avalanche of greed, betrayal, torture, lesbian lust and 'abominable fornication'. Directed by Domenico Paolella (STORY OF A CLOISTERED NUN), THE NUNS OF ST. ARCHANGEL (1973) was released on video in North America under the title, SISTERS OF SATAN.

If any film can define itself as part of the Nunsploitation genre, it is NUNS OF ST. ARCHANGEL (also known by a number of other titles including INNOCENTS FROM HELL, SISTERS OF SATAN, and THE NUN AND THE DEVIL). Set in the 16th Century at an Italian cloister outside of Verona, this beautifully photographed cult horror film claims to be based on a true story. Eager to take over Mother Supreme's rank, a ruthless nun named Sister Giulia will stops at nothing to secure her crown. But when the cardinal finds out what the nuns have been up to, he decides to make them pay.
