Dave Wilson was born (Aug. 22,1955) and raised in Bronxville, NY. He has been living in the Lancaster, Pa area since 1983, and resides there with his wife, Lisa and two cats. Dave is versatile on all woodwinds with a specialization on the saxophone, in particular the tenor and soprano saxes. He leads his own Jazz (Dave Wilson Group/Crazeology) and Dixieland music groups (Canal Street Hot 6), and as well freelances with both big bands and small groups in the area. A highlight of his career has been the fall 2002 release of the first CD under his own name, titled 'Through The Time', featuring himself on Tenor and soprano saxophones; Kirk Reese on Piano; Steve Meashey on Bass; and Jeff Stabley on Drums. It was picked up by Dreamscape Records (Dreamscaperecordsltd ), and received significent airplay on WRTI-FM in Philadelphia, as well as over 25 jazz stations nationwide! A new CD by the Dave Wilson Quartet titled 'My Time' has just been released this fall (oct 2005), on Dreambox Media out of Philadelphia. It is available now, as we speak, by either contacting Dave or going on the Dreambox Media web site ( dreamboxmedia ). The new album is also now receiving significent airplay on WRTI-FM in Philadelphia. Dave was for a long time a member of the Dave Stahl Sacred Orchestra (Dave Stahl is one of the leading Jazz trumpet artists in the nation. The DSSO has 2 CD's out on their own, both of which he performed on), as well as Dave Stahl Big Band, with whom he has played with such Jazz luminaries as Tom Harrell, Lou Soloff, Steve Marcus, John Fedchock, Conrad Herwig, Steve Smith, John Riley, among others. Dave has studied with the great saxophonists Joe Lovano, Bill Barron, Tom Stroman, as well as Steve Giordano and Kirk Reese. Dave loves playing jazz music and loves keeping busy playing the music he loves.
