Changing Times CD music
$12.29 BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than either Woody or Hess. Carlsson and drummer Matt Abst are a solid match, since Abst is a drummer used to shifting time signatures and allowing the unexpected in while still driving a band. The band's keyboardist and ...

Changing Times music CDs
$4.95 The first of 15 volumes covering two-year periods between 1950 and 1979, Rolling Back the Years: 1950-1951 chooses twenty Top 20 hits that were in the charts over those 24 months. Prism Leisure is a British budget label, but the collection clearly is aimed at the U.S., since it consists entirely of American recordings. In Europe, those recordings are out of copyright, so Prism is free to just copy old records (or, more likely, recent CDs) to assemble this collection. These are not the 20 biggest hits of 1950-1951, although some of the biggest hits of the period are included, among them the Weavers' "Goodnight Irene," Eileen Barton's "If I Knew You Were Comin' (I'd've Baked a Cake)," Nat King Cole's "Mona Lisa," Johnnie Ray's "Cry," Perry Como's ...

$22.79 InfluencesAndy, Eddie and Egly have a diverse range of influences stretching across musical forms, styles and eras.In their own words ... ...Egly LucasI first picked up the guitar at the age of fourteen after a year of disastrous trumpet lessons. I gave up the trumpet declaring myself unmusical. Then a guitar appeared in the house and I just began messing around on it, taking to it straight away. This self-teaching was a fundamentally different approach to formal lessons and relied on listening. From the start I’ve always played with other musicians and my approach to music is about collaboration: responding in interesting ways to my musical environment. For me, music is about relationships and playing together can be an intimate experience. In the last 35 years I have played with an almost seamless series of bands/projects. The interactive pursuit of playing music with people is a way of life and colours the way I look at life in general. Many of these bands have been highly original and more recently I’ve played in blues bands, exploring the idea of groove. I regard each band as an education in different aspects of music: chords and harmony; melody; groove; structure; improvisation and the downright weird. My involvement in acoustic guitar is relatively recent, and began when I started building acoustic guitars. I found that the intricacies of sound available in a hand-made instrument was a new world after playing uninspiring factory guitars. Eddie TattonBeing involved in an improvisational all acoustic project is a nice departure away from the day job, as it were, as an electric blues guitarist. I played with Eg many years ago in the Walter Harpman Band, which specialised in harmonica led roots blues. Since then I’ve toured extensively around festivals in Europe playing alongside Blues legends such as Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, and even teaming up with the legendary Memphis Horns. My work takes in many styles and I have played with various hip hop bands including Nightmares on Wax, recording, touring and headlining on a major stage at Glastonbury in 2003. A recent nationwide touring project involves me ...
