Since forming in the fall of 2004, Level Route has opened up for Texas music sensations such as Trent Willmon, The Mike McClure Band,Bleu Edmonson, Mark David Manders, Redneck,Kevin Fowler, Jason Boland, Stoney Larue, The Great Divide, Brandon Jenkins, The Randy Rogers Band, Brandon Rhyder, and Rodney Pyeatt. Level Route has taken their special brand of music to venues all over Texas,Oklahoma,Arkansas,and Louisiana packing houses with their raw, high energy live performances. In March of 2007 the band released their debut album on the Boo Hatch Records Independent label. The "Self Titled" project was produced by Red Dirt pioneer Mike McClure and engineered by Travis Linville at Dirty Bird Studios in Norman, OK. Mixing and mastering was done by Joe Hardy, Casa de Joe, Houston, TX. Hardy's long list of credits include, most notably, Steve Earle's Copperhead Road album. The first single from the record, "Rolling Stone" spent several weeks in the top 30 on the Texas Music Chart and peaked at 16 . Jeff Herge, has been composing New Age music for performances since 1988. In 1995, Jeff was nominated as the Washington Area's Best New Age artist by the Washington Area Music Association and members. Music critic Mike Joyce of the Washington Post wrote that "Herge's self-titled release is a stricly piano affair...his own spacious themes often bring to mind the romantic musings of George Winston and Liz Story." By 2003, Scooter had performed with more than 35 international acts and had toured the country opening for Jewel during her Wild Wild West Tour. The Songwriters Hall of Fame awarded him "Best of the New Writers" in 2003 and he was featured in numerous newspapers and magazines including Billboard, Music Connection, Goldmine, The Boston Herald, Newsweek, and WashingtonPost.com. Scooter developed a DIY music lecture series entitled "Capture Your Spirit, Keep Your Soul" which debuted at Berklee College of Music in Boston and continues to take him around the country. Scooter was invited to become a member of the DCIA (Distributed Computing Industry Association) and spoke with senators on Capital Hill during the MGM v. Grokster Supreme Court case.
