Syleena Johnson is the daughter of Chicago-based soul legend Syl Johnson, who himself cut a series of seminal records for the Twinight label and for Willie Mitchell's Hi records in the late `60s and early `70s. CHAPTER 4: LABOR PAINS is Syleena's fourth album, but is arguably her first attempt to grapple with her father's towering legacy. While Syleena's previous albums featured smartly produced, forward-looking R&B, the retro flourishes of CHAPTER 4's "Shoo Fly," with its slow burning wah-wah guitar, and Syleena's incredible interpretation of her father's gut-wrenching signature hit "Is It Because I'm Black," mark a fascinating and rewarding change of direction for this talented singer. Chapter 4: Labor Pains songs Everyone should have this album in their collection. I purchased it on iTunes around Christmas and haven't stopped playing it since.

She needs to retire from R&B. Nonetheless, it's a good album
She have some nice songs of the album, but it's the same old R&B tune. What i REALLY like about the album is that it's not bluesy at all.
