| | Tangerine Dream Rubycon CD (1975)
Mon Key Pod CD music
$8.85 RUBYCON is an undisputed classic in the vast Tangerine Dream canon, referenced by many of the new electronica generation. But at the time of its creation, Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, and Peter Baumann were themselves young men experimenting with technology.
RUBYCON is split into two sections, both of which offer the band's trademark mix of ululating sequencers, ghostly synthetic twilight, and mysterious electronic effects. Part One begins with intergalactic ...

| | Heavy Trash Midnight Soul Serenade CD (2009)
Mon Key Pod CD music
$12.15 On their third album, 2009's Midnight Soul Serenade, Heavy Trash keep delivering the good old rock & roll, rockabilly, and hillbilly soul that their first two albums handed out like candy at a Fourth of July parade. Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray hit their stride right away on their debut and continue to be nothing short of great. They make no great changes to their sound here; it's still loose as geese on the rockers and pleasantly spooky on the ballads. Spencer and Verta-Ray still conjure all kinds of unhinged noise from the guitars, yet remain firmly within the bounds of the songs. Best of all, Spencer fully embraces his role as greasy, rockabilly crooner with an unrestrained joy and fervor. His performance on their cover of LaVern Baker's "Bumble Bee" is guaranteed to bring smiles, his unhinged howls on "Bedevilment" bring back memories of Lux Interior, and he's never less than entertaining. The whole record is just a flat-out blast, with the duo gleefully raising all kinds of ruckus, blasting through swamp blues, noisy punk blues, cornpone balladry, and nocturnal jazz poetry, and even laying down a song that could ...
| | Norma Jean Redeemer CD (2006)
Mon Key Pod music CDs
$13.09 On their third release overall, 2006's Redeemer, the Atlanta metal quintet Norma Jean hook up with Korn/Limp Bizkit producer Ross Robinson, and the results are just what you'd expect. With the right amount of angst, rubbery riffs, and brief detours into tranquil bits, all of Robinson's trademarks are present. And truth be told, the "Robinson approach" seems to work well for the group, as singer Cory Brandan seems to live to scream his head off, and guitarists Chris Day and Scottie Henry can't wait to detune their guitars to "death metal D" (or is it C?). Burning anger is the name of the game here, as heard on (or more fittingly, assaulted by) the likes of "A Grand Scene for a Color Film" and ...
| | Alberta Cross Thief & The Heartbreaker CD (2007) Extended Play

| | JANELLE What I Gotta Say CD (2008)
Mon Key Pod songs
$16.45 It seems like just yesterday Janelle sang for the late Pope John Paul II and close to 1 million people at World Youth Day in Toronto, 2002. The 25 year old dynamo was chosen from entrants around the world to sing and record the World Youth Day 2002 theme song and perform with her band 26 times throughout the 6 day event in Toronto. Since then, she has toured Canada, the US and New Zealand bringing souls closer to Christ through her music and message.Janelle grew up in the small French town of Legal, Alberta. By the time she was 5 years old it was apparent that this sparkling, vibrant little girl had an extraordinary gift. From a very early age, her mother and grandmother taught her old French folk songs, after which came plenty of exposure singing in Church. By age 14, Janelle had become the lead singer with a contemporary Christian band, hosting evenings in Edmonton, Alberta that regularly attracted 300-600 youth. After singing with this group for 4 years, Janelle moved to New Zealand where she attended ICPE School of Evangelization. Upon her return to Canada, she joined the LVC team, singing, recording and helping with administration. Soon after, Janelle married LVC’s director of operations, Jason Reinhart, presently her manager. The couple currently lives and works in Lloydminster, Alberta with their two children, Eric and Monique. Janelle and her current band, ONE80, have been touring throughout Canada and the United States extensively, growing in their art and their faith. They have a clear objective - to reach youth ...
