Tom House Long Time Home from Here CD (2003)
Let Your Love Flow & Other Number One Hits CD music I'm a poet singer-songwriter misfit ne'er-do well. I've released a couple of independent recordings, the first a cassette "inside these walls" '97 and the last a CD "burning with the message" "08. In between I released 2 CD's on the Checkered Past Label and 5 CD's on the Catamount label all to some critical acclaim and national attention. Subsequently I also (with David Olney, Tommy Goldsmith, and Karren Pell) wrote musical adaptations William Faulkner's AS I LAY DYING---which we performed an onstage ensemble 12 years throughout the South and Midwest and an operatic version the first chapter LIGHT IN AUGUST Opera Memphis had a couple of successful runs throughout the South. Tommy, Karren, and I have gone on to write the songs adaptations two of Lee Smith's novels to stage, FAIR & TENDER LADIES and THE CHRISTMAS LETTERS; and also have created a staged musical interpretation of Connie May Fowler's REMEMBERING BLUE, which we've performed in Alabama and Tallahassee FL as well.
I also have a collection of poetry out New South Press, THE WORLD ACCORDING TO WHISKEY, has sold very well.
Tom House's unearthly meld of country, folk, and blues on Long Time Home From Here may give listeners the mistaken impression they're hearing some ancient rural soul who eked out a living in the mines next to Dock Boggs. But Nashville's House is very much of this time and place, though his ungodly warble -- which frequently pitches into trills, gargles, and primitive scatting -- and percussive, acoustic muse would fit comfortably on a collection of early 20th century field recordings. House is not simply a revivalist, however: he's too much the iconoclast to be pinned down to that, and his outright weirdness rings genuine. His is not the calculated, American primitive oddness of a Captain Beefheart or his ilk. There's real heart (and little irony or overt cleverness) in the noise House makes, as well as a disconcerting pull between his non-verbalisms and his strong poetic sensibilities (House started out primarily as a poet). There's also some genuine prettiness here, particularly in the elegiac country-folk of "Judas Song" and "Georgia Queen." "Keep It Boiling" is an uncanny, rhythmic stomp through swamped-out acoustic blues, while the folk chug of the title track is spurred by burning harmonica and House's tomcat yowls. Few Americana artists stake out such distinct terrain (Johnny Dowd comes to mind); House is an utter original and Long Time Home From Here finds him at a creative peak. ~ ...

Neil Hewitt Roll the Dice CD (2009)
Let Your Love Flow & Other Number One Hits album for sale For Nevada, Iowa native Neil Hewitt, life has been a series of small steps on a musical journey leading to a huge leap, a record label deal with Nashville's ATP Records and the release of his first single "The Request," available January 4, 2010. While Neil is only 21, he's been traveling on this musical journey since the age of 11 and, with years of hard work, he has developed a maturity that can be heard in his soothing voice and straight forward lyrics. His debut album, Roll the Dice, has a traditional country sound that includes influences from artists such as Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence, Vince Gill, and Johnny Cash. Neil's break in the music industry came when he recently graced the stage of 12th and Porter, one of Nashville's most popular venues that has played host to music's biggest artists such as Keith Urban, Neil Young, and 3 Doors Down. It was there he was discovered by ATP Records president Mark Alan Thompson.
Prior to being signed to a Nashville label, Neil spent all of his teens and early college years balancing school with paid gigs and performances across Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Kansas at various state fairs, rodeos, bars, and weddings. Although performing was his main source of an income, Neil also took on a part-time job at Iowa State University. "I had a rather interesting job while in college," Neil laughs. "I was on the ISU lighting crew. I was part of a team of about 10 ISU students that worked for the university changing light bulbs all around campus. That's right, we changed light bulbs!" This job kept Neil humble as his musical career continued to grow throughout the region.
Neil's first step into music was at age 11 when he attended a church camp and observed the camp counselors playing guitar. Immediately upon returning home, he signed up for guitar lessons with his parents' blessing. Since he was kind of shy at the time, Neil kept this new endeavor to himself, not telling any of his friends. It wasn't until age 14 at his 8th grade talent show that Neil performed for the first time in front of anyone. He found himself in front of 140 of his fellow students with his acoustic guitar and a voice that was being heard for the very first time. Neil had chosen to perform an early hit by singer/songwriter Jimmy Wayne called "Stay Gone," and as he let the last chord of the song ring out from his guitar, the entire 8th grade class jumped to its feet and cheered! The crowd loved Neil's rendition of the hit so much they asked for an encore performance. It was at that moment Neil knew he was destined to become a country singer.
Each thing Neil has done on his musical journey has been a stepping stone to where he is today, and he doesn't plan on slowing down! The biggest thing Neil has learned from all his experiences is that opportunities can sometimes be few and far between. He is grateful that he has been very fortunate in his career thus far, and he possesses the fire and passion to seize all the future opportunities that lay ahead. Neil invites you to join him on his musical journey by calling in your request for "The Request" today!

Saint Etienne Smash The System: Singles And More CDs (2001)
Let Your Love Flow & Other Number One Hits buy CD music This 34-track compilation from U.K. indie-dance act Saint Etienne features hits including "Nothing Can Stop Us" and their version of Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" as well as single B-sides, alternate versions, and cuts from Japan-only albums.
Beach Boys references, samples of obscure films, samples of not-so-obscure prog rock trios -- whether or not one faults Saint Etienne for being style-over-substance cultural archivists, they did release some of the best dance-pop singles of the '90s. The dancefloor aspect hasn't leant itself to a timeless sheen to each one of them, but truthfully, people who find nothing to like about the group -- not a single song -- probably don't like pop music. And God only knows thousands of broke Saint Etienne fans vehemently disagree with the axiom that record collectors shouldn't make records. Throughout the '90s, Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs, and Sarah Cracknell kept one foot in the past and the other in the present, making musical jigsaw puzzles out of sounds old and new. For many, Saint Etienne has provided a gateway into '60s pop, reggae, Northern soul, and techno. Smash the System, a swollen update of the Too Young to Die singles compilation, demonstrates their niche. Barring one song, this package contains everything Too Young to Die features and picks up where it left off, patching on the two singles from 1998's Good Humor (the compilation ends chronologically with 1999's Places to Visit EP). But wait -- there's more. In addition to the 14 A-sides, a hodgepodge of album tracks and rarities -- seven of which are taken from Japan-only compilations -- are selected to fill out the remainder of the two-disc set. As a place to start, one could do far worse. However, due to the sheer volume of decent-to-great Saint Etienne material floating around, there's no way that two discs could possibly give listeners everything they need. [A single-disc version that sticks strictly to the singles was released several years after the original two-disc version.] ~ Andy Kellman
Import only compilation featuring most of their official Heavenly era singles as well as B-sides, favorite album tracks & alternative or slightly remixed versions of older songs. 34 tracks including 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart', 'Kiss And Make Up', 'People Get Real', 'Pale Movie', 'Like A Motorway', 'Burnt out Car', 'Jack Lemmon' and more. Los Angeles De Charly Luna Desnuda CD (2008)
Let Your Love Flow & Other Number One Hits CD music Mexican band Los Angeles de Charly (yes, it translates as "Charly's Angels"), led by singer Charly Becies, works a smooth-but-steady variation on traditional norteno and cumbia styles on their ninth album, LUNA DESNUDA. Becies's strong, clear tenor rings out above the gently undulating cumbia rhythms, often casting a suave, romantic spell, but occasionally adopting a more commanding, rhythmically insistent feel that leaps out from the album and seems to spring to life before your very ears.
Arranger: William Watson .
