Former Tony! Toni! Tone! member Raphael Saadiq proved he could push his sound in new and intriguing ways on solo albums like INSTANT VINTAGE, mixing in soul, gospel, and contemporary flourishes. Saadiq plants his foot more firmly in the past on 2008's THE WAY I SEE IT, offering up a set that recalls the classic sound of Motown and other Northern soul from the 1960s. A performer who dares to be known by her real name, Chelsea Gregoire, born September 2, 1990, wishes to take the world by storm with her music. From the very beginning, music has been in her midst. She was raised as a genuine chorus kid, but by teaching herself in her early teenage years to play guitar, bass, piano, and other instruments, she slowly began to expand her horizons into songwriting and, later, recording.
