 | An album that won't disappoint for fans of gloomy post-punk
If 'Turn on the Bright Lights' by Interpol has been xeroxed many times over as the blueprint when it was released back in 2002, meet White Lies who are able and ready to take on the world drawing on 80s to 90s influences of the doom-and-gloom rock it's set on esp with The Cure, Joy Division, The Smiths, Talking Heads, Echo & The Bunnymen, Duran Duran, and The Teardrop Explodes. You get post-punk in a modern sense if The Killers (00s), Snow Patrol, Editors (UK), and The Bravery haven't displayed so already on the mainstream.

I still have hope in keeping an eye on this band on the next outing they put out because the hype just turned itself higher than it's been despite not being compared to what North America has already got for the last 9-10 years of the post-punk/new wave revival which is embodied in the Killers (00s), Snow Patrol, Editors (UK), The Bravery, with Glasvegas and Friendly Fires not too far behind in joining the herd. If you're interested and have heart, go ahead and give White Lies "To Lose My Life" a listen or two.
