Vince DesideryI have begun to know the trumpet nearly for case, because you it was some in the small drawing-room in my house, since my father, was play in orchestra of the” S. Carlo theatre in Naples, held it guarded for reservoir.I’s matter of fact that, after very short time I began the first lessons with my father.But since he was much strict one, and moreover he wished that I continued the classics studies, where I already attended at the “Genovesi High School”. It was only after my insistence that, it entrusted me to another Master his beloved friend (the Bravo trumpet player M°Antonio Vollaro) with which I found more comfortable, and was therefore, than after some years of study, I succeeded to play. Then, I have continued by self-taught, also because I began to love the trumpet, what that is duration all my life. Indeed, in school with some colleagues, we will succeed to form a small musical band, playing dance music . We began therefore, to play in some of the Vomero quarter in Naples for various time, also because, there were only four dancings acted in that zone. It was the period in which the American music was uptodate, and the swing it was reached in succeeding Italy through musical films of; at the same time I had way to play the very fist time with a real orchestra directed by the M° Gianni Aterrano (beloved friend) in students shows. While I continued in the classics studies, yes that I exceeded the examination of classic maturity and, I enrolled also to the faculty of Letters and philosophy, but I did’nt continue, because I began to play to professional level and I continued to study seriously.the trumpet. In 1953 I began with the participation to one show with the artist Giacomo Rondinella, making part of the orchestra that was exhibited live on the stage, directed by television director Marcello De Martino.________________________________________ Subsequently, I have participated for various years to shows of songs that, were launched annually by the Publishing companies, these auditions were called “ Piedigrotta Festival”. “It’s About Time” is a good cross-section of my musical influences. I grew up loving the music of Earth, Wind and Fire, The Ohio Players, The Isley Bros., and then one day I heard Lee Ritenour’s 1978 release entitled “The Captain’s Journey”. Just graduated from high school and looking for direction Andy found it in the guitar. Ritenour's music led Andy to discover jazz in the form of Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, etc. "I really liked the electric (fusion) jazz that had funk undertones and always had a place in my heart for latin sounds as well."His mother Sara and her sister Aurora (a recorded singing duo) were known in Argentina as “Las Hermanas Cornejo” and Andy's grandfather Agustin Cornejo was a re-knowned and enshrined Argentine folk guitarist...so music was in the blood. A near fatal auto accident in 1981 led to two years at Golden West College and one year at G.I.T. (at the Musicians Institute) and by March of 1984 his love for jazz and r&b led to work with cover bands throughout southern and northern California.
