(7 Customer Reviews)
Formed in Buffalo over 20 years ago, Cannibal Corpse is one of the first and most notorious death metal bands. Their 11th album, EVISCERATION PLAGUE, finds them far from calling it quits, despite the punishing pace and skill level at which they play their instruments. Throughout their career, the band has merely aimed to make the next album heavier than the last, and they had a challenge after 2006's KILL. Songs like the inhuman "To Decompose" and rumbling "Evidence in the Furnace" indicate that the mission was successful, as they've never sounded more locked in.

Kerrang (Magazine) (p.53) - "[T]here is not a wasted moment here. The production is huge, their attack focused, and the lyrics amusingly unpleasant as ever..." Record Collector (magazine) (p.90) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "[With] a darker, slightly sludgy sound that adds a malevolent touch to the already uncompromising songs." Great album! This album doesnt progress their work in terms of brutality.
The guitar is more complex, Fisher's vocals are superb as always - crisp and clear with so brilliant layering on songs such as priest of sodom.
It's quite allot like KILL, if you liked KILL then you will like this.
If you are an old skool Corpse fan then you might not like this so much.

Jesus Christ... If you are going to review an album at least know what you are talking about. The kid from Thunder Bay Canada obviously knows nothing of Cannibal Corpse, cause if you did you would know that Chris Barnes has not been with Cannibal Corpse since like 1993. They are now and have been fronted by Corpsegrinder since then. Your review is now nul and void. Oh, and it's instruments, not insterments. Just listen to the album and decide for yourself. cannibal corpse-evisceration plague eleventh album from the corpse. first things first here-this LP seems to be a different monster than their last, "Kill." I hate to use the adjectives "dense" and "thick" to describe a cannibal album, but those seem to very close to what the band has recorded. It goes without saying that erik rutan's production job is dense and full, but so is the music. it took me more than a couple spins to appreciate what the corpse has done here. the songs actually require you to have a patient ear to get into them, which is a welcome suprise, given the visceral impact most CC songs have on the listener. The thick on this LP is the guitar tone...probably the best i have heard on any corpse album, and some of the best all around. every member turns in shining performances, paul's drums just rip and corpsegrinder's vocals are as impressive as ever. some of the good tracks include: priests of sodom, scalding hail, the title track, and carrion sculpted entity. Album of The Year I am sick and tired of hearing bout people complaining about Corpses, Cover art, lyrics, etc.....Eviscreation Plague is by far their best album to date, why???...It shows you, the band can actually play their insterments, catchy riffs, groove, and keep the intensity..Sure is it as heavy as Kill..no...I love the album Kill, was my fav, till Evisceration Plague was released, why??watch the dvd first, then listen to the album..This album has similarities to the bleeding, BUT 10 times better. Besides tracks 2-4 on the bleeding, the rest of it is real annoying especially Barnes Vocals, like all of his CC stuff...
Once u get over the cover, lyrics, all the stupid crap, you will understand why Evisceration Plague is CC best album to date Submitted by cgrinder01 (Thunder Bay Can) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Amon Amarth With Oden On Our Side CD (2006) Bonus CD; Digipak
Evisceration Plague CD music
$10.69 Death metal with some melody? Can it be? As evidenced by Amon Amarth's 2006 release, With Odin on Our Side, this dream seems to be a reality early on. On the album opening "Valhall Awaits Me," singer Johan Hegg's vocal lines aren't merely growled syllables. But don't be worried, longtime Amarth fans, it's not like the Swedish outfit has enlisted the help of Burt Bacharach to soften things up, as Hegg's vocals do resort back to the expected death metal growl soon enough, especially on such tracks as "Under the Northern Star." Yet all the ...

| | Cannibal Corpse Kill CD (2006)
Evisceration Plague album
$10.75 One of the most infamous and censored death metal bands ever, Cannibal Corpse celebrates their 10th album with one titular sentiment: KILL. That's pretty much what it does, too. KILL reminds us who put the death in death metal, combining relentless and intense sounds with lyrics that couple Grand Guignol thrills with slasher-film imagery. Wiry, almost progressive time and tempo shifts choke out the intense riffage and bend it into dramatic extremes, as evidenced on "Five Nails in the Neck" and the assaultive introduction of "Brain Removal Police," exacting and technical in its delivery, much like ...

| | Spookie Daly Pride Medicine Chest CD (2005)
Evisceration Plague music CDs
$11.69 "As long as they continue to create music without sounding like other bands their future looks very promising." RelixFeeling blue, got a case of the tired and blahs? Then lay your ears on MEDICINE CHEST, the second platter of groovalicious tunes from Boston's SPOOKIE DALY PRIDE, and your feet will follow. Known for performances that are more parties, the band does great business bringing their live show to the college crowd and has a grassroots army of fans devoted to converting music lovers to the ranks of the Pride.
A band's name evokes certain associations, meaning the odder the name, the stronger the associations. Spookie Daly Pride, then, prepares one for something out of the ordinary, and the album Medicine Chest reinforces this impression. The band combines odd songs with a bit of soul and a bit of rock to create something like a throwback to the late '60s in some alternate universe. The singer of "The Personal Ad Song" describes what a terrible match he'd make for just about anyone: his place is a mess, his personal hygiene questionable, and he hates long walks on the beach. The song, though, is funny in an understated fashion, because it basically undermines all of the stupid clichés and dishonesty that go into the typical personal ad. ...
