| Out of order and edited - why?? What's here is fantastic - what's left out is puzzling, and why it's been done this way is frustrating. We already have a great 2CD set of the Isle of Wight show - powerful performances by The Who, including one of the most complete live performances of Tommy, and set in order of the way it was performed at the show -- that is, an opening salvo of five songs, including unreleased songs I Don't Even Know Myself and Water, then Tommy start to finish, then encores including Substitute, My Generation, Naked Eye, and Magic Bus. | 2nd Issue a slight improvement This is the second time this legendary Who concert has been released on DVD. The picture quality is slightly cleaner than the previous disc, but the main improvement is in the sound mix- the biggest difference being Keith Moons drums which sound fuller with more impact. | The Who At Their Best .1970 is said to be their best live year And the Isle of Wight is the proof. This show is nothing but pure energy, and it is almost 3am when they go on. By Jeff E (West Haven, CT) This review is for a different format. |
| The Who Live at the Isle of Wight Festival kicks A$$!!! The Who are as energetic as ever in one of the greatest performances of all time. This performance is comparable to Live at Leeds (which, in my opinion is the greatest live performance of all time.). You get to see Roger twirling his microphone, Pete windmilling on his Gibson SG (I suspect the same one used at Leeds. By a reviewer (Baltimore, MD) This review is for a different format. |
