Nisha Kataria was born on the 9th of May 1986, in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. However, shortly there after, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, along with her family, where she would live and discover her love of singing.At the tender age of three, her ardor for music was hard to miss. At an age where most children tend to be shy, Nisha was seizing every opportunity available to display her vocal ability and her passion for singing. Whether it was the middle of a mall, or the living room in her own home, Nisha was guaranteed to be putting on a show to a very welcoming audience; who in turn could not take their eyes off the small girl with no inhibitions.As time went by and Nisha grew older, Nishas vocal range and list of accomplishments broadened. At the age of 11, Nisha was awarded with the Martin Luther King Scholarship. She established a name for herself in her home city of Phoenix by singing the national anthem at many sporting events, including the one-time world champions in baseball, the Arizona Diamondbacks. She also gained popularity in her own Indian community by performing the national anthem for such legendary singers as Asha Bhosle, a native artist and one of the most successful of India.However, Nishas big musical break came in 2003 when she was discovered in the parking lot of the Arizona State Fair and grasped the attention of the celebrated Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson was so impressed by Nisha’s voice that he decided to record with her, something he had never done in the past with anyone.Nishas musical style can be described as a combination of pop, rock, and R&B. Almost anyone can find her music enjoyable since it contains a variety of sounds, from various parts of the world. One can see this in some of her songs, where an Eastern flare is present. Being born to Indian parents, Nisha was raised in two different cultures simultaneously, and loved the musical contributions of each. She has an understanding that all music is of the same essence, and she has an appreciation for all styles of music. This is evident through her music, as she gracefully combines many different sounds, creating a song that can be incorporated into any genre and enjoyed by all, regardless of personal taste.In spring of 2006 Nisha Kataria toured the United Kingdom and Ireland with the world-famous boy-band Westlife. More than 300.000 spectators in 22 different cities caused not only one sold-out show after the other, but also a huge attention for Nisha, and a media-frenzy for the new offspring talent (BBC1, BBC Radio, RedDragon FM, Q96, and others).Recently Nisha has been working in the studio to finish her first solo album. Over the last two years, Nisha recorded more than 100 different songs with a variety of producers including one of the world's top R&B and pop producers, Rob Chiarelli, legendary rock producer Dieter Dierks, and many urban R&B producers from Los Angeles, CA.Nisha is now selecting the final tracks for her album that is about to hit the shelves later this year.
