NY born and bred, Jenn Friedman sat at her parents' piano with a melody she just couldn't get out of her head. Picking the notes out one by one, and unaware that she was opening the door to her lifelong passion, Jenn wrote her first song. For twenty years, this journey took her through the sounds of Peter, Paul and Mary, Carly Simon, Pete Seeger, swirling around the harmonies of the Beatles and the Beach Boys, and eventually hovering over Ani DiFranco, Jewel, Tori Amos, etc.A graduate of SUNY Purchase, Jenn spent her four years of college in "music lockdown," intensely writing, recording, and exploring the murky depths of the wild and crazy music industry, coming up for air while performing at such legendary venues as CBGB's, The Knitting Factory, The Sidewalk Café and more.Jenn is a true singer/songwriter—her songs are versatile in their musical style and their lyrical content, all the while having the common threads of her incredible piano skill and intense vocals, coaxing the listener on a magical journey through haunted houses, loooong car rides on open roads, unrequited love, and the occasional ditty about finding God at the circus!Currently making her home in New York City, Jenn's new album drops in September of 2007 and she hits the road soon thereafter. So keep your eyes and ears open, boys and girls, because Jenn Friedman's songs WILL change your life…forever!DiscographyNew Album (yet to be titled)-2007Wake Up Summer-2005 Jenn Friedman Wake Up Summer Songs | 1. | Skin |

Wake Up Summer album
$11.18 With Adam Lambert, American Idol finally got a finalist who was completely, utterly contemporary, aware of what's hip in music and culture and aware of how music is made and consumed in 2009, never seeming to try to follow fads or set trends, just embodying the time. Mercifully, he came in second to Kris Allen, for ...

$15.98 Number Ones replaces Design of a Decade, released 14 years prior. Excepting the new song "Make Me" (hard neo-disco/funk excellence), each song here was indeed a number one hit on Billboard's various charts, though "Got 'Til It's Gone" sneaks through a side door via the Japanese charts. One number one, oddly, is missing: "So Excited," a perfectly fine, 2006 single which topped the club chart. This set is more thorough with 1986-1996, too, adding Herb Alpert's "Diamonds" -- which ...

Wake Up Summer songs
$7.96 STRIPPED is an Enhanced multi-media CD. Its interactive material, playable on any CD-ROM player, includes highlights from the VOODOO LOUNGE CD-ROM, electronic liner notes, photos, lyrics, song outtakes and live videos of "Shattered," "Tumbling Dice" and "Like A Rolling Stone."
As the longest continuously surviving band in rock and roll, The Rolling Stones have become a symbol of staying power, and STRIPPED proves why. Its lean, live, acoustic format draws from their Voodoo Lounge tour, which mixed the band's early material with some judiciously picked covers and a handful of country-blues classics, giving the band more punch as a live act that it's had in the studio in years.
The Stones' clever interpretation of Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" finds ...

Wake Up Summer CD music
$8.01 Brisbane (Australia) singer-songwriter JOHN MEYER is a versatile indie troubadour. His music explores territory ranging from lovingly hand-crafted folky pop tunes through to dramatic, atmospheric rock – with a broad repertoire of arrangements that can be fine-tuned to suit a range of performance spaces. Edged-out and left of centre, his songs might make you smile and cry at the same moment. A well-known face on the Brisbane music scene, John Meyer will in the coming months take his brand of intelligent and accessible pop songwriting to the rest of Australia and the world, with the release of his debut EP “Silver Bullets Don’t Work on Vampires”. Having served his apprenticeship on the live scene since 2003 with various bands including Nausicaa, Charley Horse and most recently the Internalists, Meyer has emerged as a solo artist with an EP that is a grab bag of five diverse and outstanding songs.Recorded at Zero Interference Studios by much-loved indie producer Bryce Moorhead, Meyer’s debut is packed with layers of instrumentation and arrangement that simultaneously defy expectation and manage to sound familiar and satisfying. Comparisons are invited with thoughtful pop icons like Neil Finn and Rufus Wainwright, but equally there are hints of REM, Death Cab for Cutie and Blur. Meyer’s major strength as a songwriter is his ability to cross genres, focusing on melody and structure above all else, with his trademark harmonies never far away.Title track “Silver Bullets Don’t Work on Vampires” is a bouncy, punchy piece of pop brilliance that sparkles from the get go – no time for an intro as the story of a tempestuous love affair quickly unfolds. The absurdly catchy and uplifting chorus (We fell in love with ourselves and we never needed anybody else) will have you thinking of those sweet and heady moments of first love/lust when the whole world seems focused on just two people, a bottle of wine and a swirl of conversation. But just under the surface lies something maybe a little sinister, waiting to make its move, maybe something a bit like a vampire, ready to suck the life force from this pretty picture. Will we make it through? Sure we have our weapons, our silver bullets, but will that be enough to ward off that evil vampire...?Written in 2001, Track 2 “Shallow Grave” is one of Meyer’s oldest songs that he still plays, and it is testament to the song’s strength that it has survived three band formats to make it onto this EP. Despite a moody and dark lyric that hints at opportunities lost and potential unmet, and a droning, washing guitar riff that pushes and pulls the song in different directions, it is still unapologetically “pop”, with its soaring harmonies and hooky chorus. Track 3 “Devil in the Details” is another darkly dreaming tune that explores themes of failed aspirations and emotional inertia, while still managing to allow moments ...
