A beautiful young English woman learns that she has been fired from her PR job. On the way home, the doors of a tube car close on her, opening the "what if" floodgates. She begins to live out two lives: if she had made the train, and if she hadn't. An intriguing concept about fate and how simple moments have the ability to change our lives. Sliding Doors Reviews: "...The date-night movie of choice for incurable romantics.....Funny and touching..."

British actor Peter Howitt wrote and directed this British romantic comedy-drama with a "road not taken" premise recalling the 1921 play If by Lord Dunsany (1878-1957), Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life (1946), and O.Henry's short story Roads of Destiny (1909). Howitt's storyline branches in two directions: Helen (Gwyneth Paltrow) loses her job at a classy London PR firm, has a run-in with a purse-snatcher, and finds her boyfriend Gerry (John Lynch) in bed with his former girlfriend Lydia (Jeanne Tripplehorn). But what if it were one of those days when everything goes right? As the sliding doors close while she stands on a subway platform in the London underground, Helen ponders the events in her alternate reality. The plot of Lord Dunsany's If also hinges on a future determined by catching or missing a train. Sliding Doors was shown at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.

$12.99 This vignette-laden, nostalgic view of Christmastime in 1940s Indiana follows nine-year-old Ralphie, who desperately wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas--and is waging an all-out campaign to convince his reluctant parents that the toy will be safe in his hands. By turns warped and winsome, the comedy follows Ralphie as he prepares for the big day with his rather idiosyncratic family. Based on the novel by humorist Jean Shepherd (who ...

$7.95 A madcap spoof of the classic Hollywood Western, BLAZING SADDLES is also one of the most gleefully anti-P.C. films ever produced by a major studio. When the sheriff of a small frontier town is killed, convict Bart (Cleavon Little) is appointed the first black sheriff of all-white Rock Ridge by the evil Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman), who hopes this will chase the townspeople from their homes. The naive Sheriff Bart soon catches on, realizing from the less than cheery welcome that the townspeople (who all seem to be named Johnson) aren't prepared for a black sheriff and that he was never meant to succeed at all. Enlisting the help of the sensitive town drunk (Gene Wilder), formerly the Waco Kid, Bart embarks on a plan to save Rock Ridge. A scathing spoof that deals with racism, sexism, and bodily functions, BLAZING SADDLES offers a contrast between picture and words that is shocking, subversive, and hilarious. Director Mel Brooks makes two memorable appearances--as both the sleazy governor and a Yiddish-speaking ...

$40.25 Shawn Ryan, a regular writer for "Angel" and other programs, created this crime drama to challenge the mores of televised entertainment and to provide a heightened reality with increasingly complicated moral questions. Michael Chiklis stars as Vic Mackey, perhaps television's most no-nonsense detective. His violent, brutal methods bring results, but are often despised by his colleague Detective Wyms (CCH Pounder). Also included are a cast of layered characters including a homosexual cop (Michael Jace) and an officer who is also running for office (Benito Martinez). The show's popularity on ...

$31.29 From the mind of Paul Henning, creator of THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, came this charming sitcom that aired from 1963-70. Set in fictional Hootersville, the show followed the goings-on at the Shady Rest Hotel, run by Kate Bradley (Bea Benaderet) and her three gorgeous daughters: blond, boy-crazy Billie Jo (Jeannine Riley); literary, intellectual Bobbie Jo (Pat Woodell); and redheaded tomboy Betty Joe (Linda Kaye). The only way to reach the hotel was via the Cannonball Express, which was run by Charley Pratt (Smiley Burnette) and Floyd Smoot (Rufe Davis). Rounding out the ...

$10.25 In this final chapter of the AMERICAN PIE teen comedy trilogy, mishap magnet Jim (Jason Biggs) and former band geek Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) have decided to tie the knot. Jim's friends Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) are on hand to help with preparations, but the trio soon gets an unwanted fourth wheel in the form of the eternally obnoxious Steve "Stifmeister" Stifler (Seann William Scott). Meanwhile, Michelle's lovely younger sister, Cadence (January Jones), arrives and quickly becomes the object of affection for both the scholarly Finch and the loudmouthed Stifler. Who will win the heart of Cadence? And how many things will go wrong before Jim and Michelle walk down the aisle? (Hint: A lot.)
By once again balancing the lewd and the crude with the touching, AMERICAN WEDDING continues the charmingly funny yet gross streak of the first two films. Anchored by creator/screenwriter Adam Herz's obvious love for the characters, the film begins with a hilarious proposal scene and keeps the antics coming. As with past films, Biggs and Scott are the instigators of most outrageous acts, but the movie also gives ample screen time to comedy veterans Eugene Levy (once again playing ...
