For the Last Time buy CD music About Haim Cotton Composer and pianist Haim Cotton (חיי� קחטן) came to the U.S. from Israel at agetwenty-two, having already played on fifteen records with many of Israel'smost renowned recording artists. After moving to the U.S., he advancedinto arranging and composing, and his works have since been licensed incommercials and films worldwide. The musical director for singer OfraHaza, Haim has played on her final solo album Kyria, and appeared with herin festivals around the world, including the Montreux Jazz Festival. Forthe past twenty years, Haim has been teaching jazz at The New School, buthe has simultaneously remained committed to recording and liveperformance as well. Haim has concentrated on production during the lastfive years; his latest works include saxophonist Danny Lerman's Meow Baby,which has been hailed as a "breakthrough release," and Jeffrey Wilgus'sSignature, which critics have praised for its outstanding production. In2007, Haim founded the group Project Grand Slam with his long timecollaborator Robert Miller. Their debut album, Play, was produced byGrammy-winning producer Frank Filipetti and nominated for 8 Grammy awards. Several tunes from the album were featured in the NBC Primetimetelevision series Lipstick Jungle, and the group has performed in theseries. The 100% Cotton Story Haim was barely a high school graduate who had just begun to play in jazzclubs when he met drummer Tal Bergman, who had recently traveling on tourwith Chick Corea. Haim and Tal got along well, and decided to playtogether one night, a performance which solidified the bond between thetwo for years to come and thus played a pivotal role in developing thefoundations for the band they would form with bassist Yossi Fine, HigherReality Fusion. The band immediately earned national recognition and washired to play at prestigious venues such as Shablul in Tel Aviv. Duringthe eighties, the three moved to the United States, where they continuedto collaborate in spite of the fact that they had officially disbanded. Many of their most prolific sessions together resulted in the music forHaim's debut solo album, 100% Cotton. The album additionally features theproduction of Omnimusic president Doug Wood, for whom Haim had beenwriting music ever since the mid-eighties. Doug had been impressed byHaim's talent early on, and eventually signed Haim as well as otherartists to his record label NovaDisc. He and Haim worked to piecetogether 100% Cotton, and the album was released in 1992. First Time... For the Last Time CD music Greta was born in Fort Kent and raised in Frenchville, Maine. The fourth of eight children, she was singing as soon as she knew what the word "sing" meant . . . and probably before that. Her mother taught her to play a few piano notes when she was five, but her hands were so small, she could barely play a triad! She was taught three guitar chords (D, A, & G) when she was twelve, and started writing songs around the same time. In 1987, Greta wrote her first song for the Lord: "I Will Sing for You." In 1988, she recorded a demo tape with three songs that she decided to sell as a fundraiser to bring the "Youth to Mary"--to Medjugorje. After the war broke out in Yugoslavia, she was no longer able to pursue that. In 2001, she recorded a single for one of her friends that had lost her daughter in a fatal car crash. In the fall of 2007, she hired Jamie Thibeault at Cellar Door Recording Studio in Madawaska to combine the cassette and the CD. When he finished that project, he asked Greta when she was going to come back into the studio. She fought the idea until June, when God gifted her with "Be My Friend," and she now knows that Jamie's suggestion was a nudge from the Holy Spirit. In September, she asked the Lord to give her another song if he wanted her to go into the studio. Two days later, she received "Adoration." "Surrender" and "Gifts" followed soon after. Greta considers the CD a miracle because she is the mother of eleven children, and because she would not have been able to complete the CD without the generosity of friends. Thank you, Jesus.
