Widescreen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles; Spanish Subtitles; French Subtitles; Dir/Cast Commentary In this survival-of-the-fittest teen comedy, high school is a dangerous jungle seething with teenagers who prey on each other like wild animals. The nonstop jokes are hilariously rewarding as they exaggerate adolescent vanity and satirize political correctness issues like race, class, and homosexuality. Here, the Plastics are the most popular girls in school. They wrote the rule book on Girl World, like always wearing pink on Tuesdays. And they're mean. So when pretty new girl Cady (Lindsay Lohan) arrives in school, the first thing they do is make fun of her. Then they try to win her over. Cady is torn between social cliques. She befriends the punky rebels Janis (Lizzy Caplan) and Damian (Daniel Franzese). But the guy Cady wants to date is friends with the Plastics--Regina (Rachel McAdams), Gretchen (Lacey Chabert), and Karen (Amanda Seyfriend)--so she has to be resourceful. Problem is, the two groups hate each other. Just trying to fit in, Cady jumps through hoops for the Plastics and becomes a mean girl in the process. Though her transformation is radical, when the final act of meanness is done, she learns a few valuable lessons.
SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE writer Tina Fey contributes the script and also stars as a teacher, quietly smirking at her own jokes throughout the antics. Directed by FREAKY FRIDAY's Mark Waters, MEAN GIRLS doesn't miss a beat, following the faithful formula of teen fare such as SIXTEEN CANDLES and HEATHERS. The soundtrack features songs by Blondie, Missy Elliot, Pink, The Donnas, and Janis Ian. Mean Girls Reviews: "[T]art and often charming....With a lively and talented young cast headed by the cherubic Lindsay Lohan."-- Elvis Mitchell, New York Times "[Mark Waters] confirms that he has a fine studio touch. He keeps the story light and bright, and he brings out real comic performances from his cast, including newcomer Seyfried, who plays her ditz with Judy Holliday charm..."-- Manohla Dargis, Los Angeles Times "The movie is full of good ideas....Look behind the glasses to Fey's invaluable expressions of womanly deadpan dismay for advice on all things modern-girl."
-- Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly "MEAN GIRLS has the same fancifully dead-on tone as 1995's CLUELESS."-- Mike Clark, USA Today "Fey subverts formula to find comic gold. She's a brash new voice in movie comedy. Boy, do we need her now."
-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone "[A] slick, enjoyable film....The dialogue is witty and sharp..."
-- Edward Lawrenson, Sight and Sound "[The film] sidesteps a lot of cliches, goes for real humor instead of gags, and even contains some wisdom."-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times Mean Girls | List Price | $21.99 (You save $5.70) | | Studio | Paramount Home Entertainment | | Orig Year | 2004 | | All Time Sales Rank | 125997 | | CD Universe Part number | 7859956 | | Catalog number | 142724 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Apr 14, 2009 | | Rating | PG-13 (MPAA) | | Rating Reason | sexual content, language & some teen partying | | Running Time | 97 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled | | Movie Details | Color; Collector's Edition; Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled; Blu-Ray Disc Sensormatic |

Bernardo Bertolucci's THE DREAMERS centers on three university students who adore the Cinematheque Francaise, and are fascinated by '60s culture--the music of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, the films of Jean-Luc Godard, and the writings of Susan Sontag and Chairman Mao. Their philosophical conversations about sexuality, love, politics, activism, and the Vietnam War; and their daily activities--going to the cinema, protesting in support of Henri Langlois, lounging around naked, and smoking dope--are a realistic reflection of the mood and energy of that era.
The plot involves Parisians Theo (Louis Garrel) and Isa (Eva Green), a brother-sister team with a strangely intimate connection. They befriend their American classmate ...
