| | Katrina L Moss Keep Walking CD Katrina L Moss Discography of CDs
KATRINA L. MOSS is no stranger to the music industry. Having worked with a plethora of well-known and accomplished musicians, including jazz great Phil Upchurch, Dave Williams, co-writer of the Smokey Robinson hit, "Same Ole Song", jazz pianist John Fluker-who has worked with the likes of Wynton Marsalis and Gladys Knight, among others, Katrina's musicianship holds its' own. From the southern slopes of America to the western plains in Africa, she has endeared audiences with the gift of song. The Arkansas native has even performed & headlined, at the age of sixteen, with her band at the Dallas Convention Center. As well as having written songs for other artists, Katrina L. Moss also is an accomplished author & poet--which is, one might assess, how she has the ability to write songs from an almost miasmic poetic vain, with just the right flavor of a smooth jazz vibe. She has this uncanny Mahalia Jackson/Nina Simone-like vibrato in her voice; (not to mention a similar style of grace.) And her unpretentious graceful approach equals that of her refreshing demeanor. Flipping between her Cleopatra-like ironed out ebony hairstyle, to her splendidly regal(!) let-it-curl wash "n" go woolly-hair coiffure, the lovely Katrina L. Moss rocks her natural mane on & off the stage, with a confidence that shines through; from her soul's reflection right in to her songs. Having been born in small town Arkansas to very loving & socially-conscience parents, and a Philosophy major at UCLA during college, her presence clearly reflects a profound comfort & self-love in knowing who she is, and from whence she came. It comes through in the caressing soul in her voice, which relaxes and enraptures you. Having written every song on the CD-with the exception of one, a cover tune, which she arranged for her own relaxing vocal style, this project compilation certainly validates her among one of the finest singer/songwriters. She presents each song with wonderful ease, with a delivery that will on some songs move you to tears; on others, to joy. Each song affirming why she sings. Every song takes you on a journey, mesmerizes and convicts you. She sometimes even writes metaphorically to juxtapose the message that true faith will lead you to that same place of redemption, if you but trust. There is a sense of depth of spirituality which seems she clearly understands and walks. As Katrina puts it, quote "whatever your question in life, whatever your dilemma, whatever your most remotest of thought, there is a Source to which you can go. This Source outweighs all of man's comprehension, yet holds all of man's thought" unquote. With that being said, I for one have listened, and am moved to hear more and more! She brings one into remembrance, that all will be okay. When asked once who are some of her greatest influences, she simply replied, "it's not so much who as it is what; what are some of my greatest influences?: I would have to say love, hope, character, kindness, strength. Yeah...I would have to say ALL of those things." So, to that, I say...no fluff here; Katrina L. Moss is truly the real deal -- through and through. A mature & refreshing soulful sound, with a spiritual message of substance. How divine. Katrina L Moss Keep Walking Songs | 1. | Count On It! |

Within twenty four hours, they had written their first song, "Day In and Day Out". Pete was playing lead guitar with Nanci Griffith, and he left town for a gig in Telluride, Colorado, a thousand miles northwest of Austin. After the show, they spoke on the phone and agreed to meet at the equidistant point: Lubbock, Texas. They each drove five hundred miles to celebrate their first date at Buddy Holly's grave, in the windy west Texan cotton ...

$9.35 "Northern California's Collisionville fuses a loud, post-punk sound with down-home Americana to create sardonically sincere songs that are well put together and streaked with the humor that eludes more self-serious bands." -Eliot Van Buskirk, Wired Magazine"Stephen Pride's song craft is dynamic, full of unexpected turns..." -Dan Vermont, The Owl Mag"I think Frank Zappa would have liked some of Collisionville's music .It's funny and insinuating; it creeps up on you. It's got fucked time signatures and whacked guitar parts played because that's how the composition was going and they took themselves seriously in the right way..." -Brian Keizer (Spin Magazine & the SF Bay Guardian)Hey, do you live in Fallujah? Or maybe you used to live in New Orleans but now your house is at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico? Can your car run on dried-up bacon grease? Do you have any money left? You didn’t leave it all with the bank, did you? Who the hell’s been running this place, anyway?Oakland, Califorinia’s Collisionville—guitarist/vocalist Stephen Pride, drummer Ben Adrian, and bassist Conor Thompson—are dealing with these insane times by cranking out tunes reminiscent of ‘80s & ‘90s staples like The Pixies, The Replacements, or the whole SST camp—only ...
