Bluebird & Skoko are a buzzing combination of deep Chicago blues and dirty rock'n'roll energy guided by the spirit of Screaming Jay Hawkins, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, The Cramps, and all those artists inspired by the fire inside. Their music is the expression of passion for music and lust for life. They sing and play from the guts, guided by that mysterious creature called Mojo. Their first album together 'Trust Your Mojo, Sista', mastered at the Abbey Road Studios, will be released in january 2009. Bluebird grew up in Chicago under the wing of the great Junior Wells. Since 1975 he has blown his harp with Chicagoans from Sammy Lawhorn to Eddy Taylor and from Phil Guy to Valerie Wellington. He jammed with Muddy Waters and opened for him for his entire 1980 Italian tour. He played with Dr. John (with whom he recorded one of his own songs), John Kalb, Bill Dicey, Alexis Korner, the Sun Ra Orchestra, and many more. In 1982, one of his songs won a platinum record in South America. His songs have been included in numerous compilations in Europe and America. Bluebird has been followed by the music press and European TV stations since the beginning. His latest version of the song 'Johnny B. Goode' received five stars from independent radio stations in the USA. Skoko released three albums with her band CUT. Playing psycho rock'n'roll, they've opened for Royal Trux, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Hives, and many more. Recently she recorded the song 'Watching Ya,' released by the Italian record label Suoni di Jato. Trust Your Mojo, Sista music CDs
$8.39 THE ORIGINAL LOST ELEKTRA SESSIONS stem from the Butterfield Blues Band's attempt to record their debut album. The tapes were scrapped and a whole new album was recorded.
The songs here, recorded in late 1964 before keyboardist Mark Naftalin joined up, were intended for the Butterfield Band's first album. However, they were junked at the last minute by producer Paul Rothchild, who felt they weren't technically up to snuff for reasons that remain unclear despite his liner note reminiscences. The tapes then proceeded to languish in Elektra's vaults for 30 years, at which point Rothchild dug them ...

Trust Your Mojo, Sista album
$6.25 Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble: Stevie Ray Vaughan (vocals, guitar); Reese Wynans (keyboards); Tommy Shannon (bass); Chris Layton (drums); Doyle Bramhall.
When Stevie Ray Vaughan's helicopter crashed in August 1990, the world lost more than just a musical giant. Stevie Ray's short life contained all the elements of a hero's journey--from obscurity, through adversity, to glory. His meteoric rise in the public's eye began after a stellar performance at the 1982 Montreaux Jazz Festival, which led to a gig with David Bowie (on LET'S DANCE) and a demo that ended up becoming TEXAS FLOOD, an outstanding debut from one of the most influential blues artists ever to call Texas home.
Five years after his passing, Vaughan is honored with a GREATEST HITS collection, gathering songs from each phase of his recording career. From that first album comes the seminal "Pride And Joy," a hard-swinging rhythmic twister revealing Stevie Ray's prowess on the guitar. The man was a monster--simultaneously playing sweaty rhythms and soulful leads, while also handling vocal chores. When he moans that "it's flooding down in Texas, all the telephones lines are down," the depth of his emotion makes you feel the water rising. The guitar solo that follows--reaching, bending, testifying--can ...
| | John Mayall Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton CD (1966) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Trust Your Mojo, Sista CD music
$11.99 John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers: John Mayall (vocals, piano, organ, harmonica); Eric Clapton (vocals, guitar); John McVie (bass); Hughie Flint (drums).
Includes original release liner notes by Neil Slaven & reissue liner notes by Paul Trynka.
1966's BLUESBREAKERS WITH ERIC CLAPTON is full of portent, as some of its participants would become superstars after its release. Future Cream guitarist Eric Clapton was highly rated enough in the UK blues-rock scene to score second billing, but it wasn't until this recording that he'd had the opportunity to truly stretch out in the studio and show off his awesome soloing skills. Clapton's earlier stint in the Yardbirds had found his ideas largely shouted down by pop-oriented producer/manager Giorgio Gomelsky, but here kindred spirit/producer Mike Vernon simply let Clapton play as he wished. The sympathetic rhythm section of Hughie Flint and future Fleetwood Mac founder John McVie, along with Mayall's best-ever vocals and organ, make BLUESBREAKERS WITH ERIC CLAPTON one of the all-time great British blues albums.
Rarely has any single record album induced such a shift in popular music. Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton not only catapulted Clapton to ...

Trust Your Mojo, Sista music CDs
$14.89 Having real Jamaican reggae artists cover the faux-reggae-pop of the Police is a great gimmick, but the value of this compilation rests in the pure musical richness contained therein, rather than the ha-ha factor. To hear Cyril Neville's spine-tingling take on "Wrapped Around Your Finger" is to hear this haunting song again for the first time. Likewise Horace Andy's rendition of "Invisible Sun," which reveals new depths of both sorrow and uplifting radiance. Though not a reggae artist, Joan Osborne sounds ...
