Lady Luck album
$11.99 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter only knew the songs that were getting played on the ...

| | Patty Loveless Mountain Soul II CD (2009)
Lady Luck songs
$14.55 Patty Loveless' MOUNTAIN SOUL II is not a strict sequel to its 2001 predecessor. Whereas the former album was chock-full of bluegrass tunes both historical and contemporary, the sequel is a far more diverse collection that includes traditional songs, country music classics, and some new originals--and yes, there are a couple of bluegrass tunes in the mix. Loveless and her husband, producer Emory Gordy, Jr., recruited a stellar cast of players and backing vocalists, and wrote some stellar tunes to put alongside hallmark favorites on this mostly acoustic date. The guests are a star-studded list of session players and singers including Vince ...
| | Willie Nelson Stardust CD (1978)
Lady Luck album
$6.75 Includes liner notes by Mickey Raphael, Booker T. Jones and Willie Nelson.
Digitally remastered by Chris Athens (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
15 years before Tony Bennett made the Great American Songbook safe for the MTV generation, there was Willie Nelson's STARDUST, one of the greatest "crossover" albums in history. The concept was simple: Willie singing a select group of familiar standards by composers such as Carmichael, Berlin, Weill, Ellington, the Gershwins, all in his familiar and ...

| | Tracy beck As An Eagle Soars CD (2009)
Lady Luck album
$11.49 Note: It is recommended to click on the broadband for all the songs for higher quality sound clips."This new album by Tracy Beck "As An Eagle Soars" features 12 unblemished songs written by Tracy along with the input of Darnell Ellis on one of the tracks "Desert Moon." Her singing style in conjunction with the lyrics of each song is definitely a winning recipe and is a welcomed addition to the folk music scene. Music like this will encourage many more people to become folk music fans for years to come."Roots Music ReportReveiwed By: Robert Bartosh" Nice feel, unique and honest music. Love the rhythm of Running On Empty.....The sparseness of Blue Moon....haunting. Nice Album."Bill Wence Radio PromotionsNashville, TNAn acoustic album combining a blend of folk, americana, and roots music. While listening to her music you can imagine yourself back in the old west walking into an old wooden double door saloon to listen to the singer and her story, the piano player, and the fiddle. At times you might want to roll down your windows and drive. At other times you might find yourself quiet, lured into the reflective storytelling and melodic melodies of this inspirational album, "As an Eagle Soars."Longing for love, yearning for the west, in search of passion and self discovery is what this album is about."Let the wind carry me into the sun as an eagle soars,"is a poem that has emerged from Tracy's present and past CD releases as a recording artist. Alot of her songs reflect her love of the outdoors, and the mountains she fell in love with while living out west and spending time in Montana. Her music journey began in the fouth grade when she was given a recorder and the opportunity ...
| | Conway Twitty #1's:The Warner Bros. Years CD (1988)
Lady Luck CD music
$6.29 There are a couple of statistics in the late Conway Twitty's career that are rather astonishing: the first is that he scored 52 number one hits in the 30 years between 1958 and 1988. Just how astonishing can be illustrated this way: 52 number ones is more than the Beatles, more than Elvis Presley, and more than Frank Sinatra. The second -- and what might appear minor in comparison but is actually more so -- is that ten of them were between 1982 and 1988, near the end of his major-label recording career for Warner Bros. Twitty scored during every major change in the music, from honky tonk to countrypolitan to outlaw to urban cowboy to the dawn of the new traditionalist era. The true influence of Twitty has yet to be recognized, but he was a major player when country music was at its most invisible. In fact, it can be said that Conway was countrypolitan and made the whole mess cross ...
| | Tree People Human Voices CD (2009) (Import) Spain
Lady Luck music CDs
$17.09 The discreet Oregon band the Tree People released their second album, HUMAN VOICES, as a cassette, in 1984. A minor folk gem, it remained unavailable on CD until 2009. This album contains peculiar underground folk songs and acoustic guitar-and-flute instrumentals. The writing is delicate, careful, almost fragile at times, and features occasional dissonances and complex chords that keep the emotional charge in the murky waters of melancholia, indecision, and disappointment. There is a strong influence from Pearls Before Swine and the kind of American freak folk that happened outside of the major urban centers and didn't get much exposure (or get recorded) back in the day. With hindsight, one could easily put the Tree People near the roots of the tree whose branches would give birth ...
