Animated; Widescreen; Box Set; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; Spanish Subtitles; French Subtitles Intelligent, funny, adorable, and beautifully animated, MONSTERS, INC. will delight fans of SHREK and TOY STORY, while drawing a new audience of curious, kid-friendly viewers. Billy Crystal and John Goodman make a fiercely funny comedic team as job partners and best friends, Mike (Crystal)--a little green guy with one huge eyeball, and Sulley (Goodman)--a big purple and blue fuzzy guy with dinosaur spikes down his back. Mike and Sully work at MONSTERS, INC., a gigantic corporation that captures the screams of little children and turns them into energy. To make the children scream, the monsters must enter each child's bedroom through the closet door, then deliver a frightening affront. The only problem is, kids aren't scared anymore. And because of this problem, Monsters, Inc. is in a jam. But when one little girl, Boo (Mary Gibbs), follows Sully through her closet door and into the factory, she brings an even more dire issue to the fore: the monsters are actually terrified of children. From Pixar Animation Studios, MONSTERS, INC. is an exciting adventure with a sweet, happy ending.
Both the DVD and VHS releases include the animated short FOR THE BIRDS and a home video exclusive performance of "Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me" created by Mike Wazowski. HOOKED ON PHONICS Man some people really have a problem with spelling, don't they?? SHIZAT'S for sure!!
Anyway, this was a cute Disney movie not a gang banger film or organized crime flick, like the guy below me thinks... GEEZUZ! Pixar puts out some of the cutest, wiity, funny cartoons. Ice Age and Finding Nemo are really good too! My kids love them all, and there is good adult humor in them as well. Submitted by Stacey (Manteca, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Monsters, Inc. film
$23.15 After PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and ATONEMENT, Keira Knightley continues her reign as the queen of the period film with this 18th-century costume drama. The corset-clad actress stars as Georgiana Spenser, the Duchess of Devonshire. With her marriage to the duke (Ralph Fiennes), Georgiana achieves an impressive level of fame as Britons follow both her clothing style and her political advice. But even celebrity and wealth can't act as a salve in her marriage to the boring, boorish duke. When he begins to flaunt his affairs, Georgiana is tempted to return to a teenage crush, Charles Grey (Dominic Cooper of THE HISTORY BOYS), to the anger of her husband and her mother (Charlotte Rampling, SWIMMING POOL).
Fiennes's portrayal of the duke ranks roughly with his Lord Voldemort on a scale of beastly behavior, but the acclaimed actor manages to give him a level of humanity that far surpasses what he deserves. THE DUCHESS focuses on the lack of power possessed by Georgiana and, in fact, all women of her time, and the duke is the primary agent of her suppression. As she has done with other period films from the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN series to KING ARTHUR, Knightley brings spirit to the role, as well as a regal carriage that perfectly fits the detailed costumes by Michael O'Connor. Fans of history-based drama--Georgiana was real-life royalty who is found in the genealogy of Princess Diana--will find much to like in ...

| | Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 DVD (1988)
Monsters, Inc. DVD
$12.85 Beginning just hours after the original HELLRAISER ended, HELLBOUND finds young Kristy (Laurence) waking up in a mental institution because she insisted on describing her parents murderers as pain-loving demons from hell to the authorities. Unfortunately, she has been placed in the car of Dr. Channard, who has devoted his life to solving the Lament Configuration, the key to the doorway of hell, and now, with Kristy, he believes he has found another key. Resuscitating the skinless corpse of her stepmother, Julia, Dr. Channard succeeds in opening a doorway to hell, one that Julia, Channard, Kristy, and her mute friend Tiffany all travel through.
Based on a story by Clive Barker, HELLBOUND is both a continuation of the original as well as a much different take on its story and universe. Here, the film fashions itself after an ALICE IN WONDERLAND type fairy tale as it focuses on Kristy and Tiffany's adventures in hell as well as on the lives of the Cenobites. Infamously gory, surreal, and often horrifying, HELLBOUND is a satisfying sequel to one of the most original horror films of the 1980s.
In 1988, it emerged as the shocking follow-up to the film that redefined the face of horror. Two decades later, it remains one of the most brutally original sequels in horror film history. Relive the nightmare of pleasure and pain as the puzzle box unleashes ...

| | My Chemical Romance Desolation Row (From The Motion Picture Watchmen) Vinyl LP (2009)
Monsters, Inc. film
$15.55 The official soundtrack to the 2009 hit comic book movie is not your typical collection of hard-and-heavy rock anthems and hip-hop party songs. With the exception of My Chemical Romance's amped-up cover of Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row," it is a sobering blend of standards from days past. Complementing the somber mood and flashback sequences throughout the film, songs like Dylan's "The Times They Are A'Changin'" and Billie Holiday's "You're My Thrill" recall several eras' worth of simpler values and/or affairs. Nat King Cole's classic "Unforgettable" juxtaposes that song's soulful sentiment with a hero's demise. Elsewhere on the soundtrack, the Philip Glass Ensemble's "Pruit Igoe & Prophecies" and Wagner's "Ride ...

| | Bruce Almighty Blu-ray (2003) Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled; DTS Sound
Monsters, Inc. movie DVD
$23.39 Jim Carrey returns to his zany, manic roots in this Capraesque comedy from director Tom Shadyac (ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE and LIAR LIAR). Carrey stars as Bruce Nolan, a television reporter in Buffalo, New York who lives a normal life with his sweet girlfriend Grace (Jennifer Aniston). But Bruce isn't satisfied, and after a particularly bad day where everything goes wrong, he blames God. After spewing a tirade of curses God's way, God (Morgan Freeman in a gentlemanly white suit) responds and challenges Bruce to take over and see if he can run things better. Of course, there are some conditions; Bruce can only have the "almighty" powers for 24 hours and only in the Buffalo area. This doesn't stop Bruce, and he responds to his newfound powers with selfish, childlike zeal. Like a kid in a candy store, Bruce sets off making one hysterical, yet disastrous, decision after another. He pulls the moon closer to the earth so he can have a more romantic evening with Grace, unaware that his actions cause a tidal wave in Japan and responds to the prayers of the world with a mass-email "yes" that creates millions of lottery ...

Vietnam, desegregation, Watergate, and more are presented from the perspective of Tom Hanks's loveably slow-witted Forrest Gump as he finds himself embroiled in situations he can't quite comprehend.
