In 1994 Lais was born; a group of three girls singing songs that grew straight from their Flemish folk roots and evolved with them through their own unique sound. 'Unique' in fact is a good word for these girls, since they have always done things their own way, setting up many surprises for their audiencies at gigs in and around Belgium, such as the Folk Dranouter and the Rock Werchter festival.
