We see it in books, in movies, in documentaries and even on the 1$-bill. We hear references in Jazz and Classical Music, but now there is Popmusic inspired by the rich tradition of Freemasonry. With the conceptalbum The Temple of Humanity by the band Freestone, Freemasonry is entering Popular Music for the first time. What is Freemasonry, what is its purpose, what are freemasons up to in their lodges, does the United States of America have Masonic roots and what is the meaning of the all-seeing eye? The Temple of Humanity doesnât directly give answers, but provides a discovery through symbols and rituals of the mystical tradition of Freemasonry. References can be found in music, lyrics and artwork. No conspiracy theories or unnecessary secrecy, but an authentic story based upon personal experience translated in twelve powerful songs. The album is composed and produced by someone who is initiated, both in Freemasonry as well as in music. In co-operation with experienced musicians, The Temple of Humanity is a professional produced authentic and unique album. The packaging and booklet contain fascinating art and artists from different countries (of whom a few are masons themselves) have contributed their work.Freestone makes pop- and rockmusic based upon different themes that can be commonly found in popmusic. Music and artwork are contemporary and the album shows that in the popcommunity and in the changing music industry, there is still place for something new. The album in interesting for music lovers who are in search for something different. Discover the mystery and listen to The Temple of Humanity. Temple Of Humanity album
$12.29 BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than either Woody or Hess. Carlsson and drummer Matt Abst are a solid match, since Abst is a drummer used to shifting time signatures and allowing the unexpected in while still driving a band. The band's keyboardist and rhythm guitarist, Danny Louis, is a shape-shifter, playing to whatever is needed in a given track. His manner of coloring sounds inside and around a particular tune's framework is a large part of what makes Gov't Mule's sound so fresh here - despite ...

| | Shad Weathersby Beaten Path CD (2007)
Temple Of Humanity album
$16.45 In New Orleans, famous for its Rhythm & Blues and Jazz traditions, Shad Weathersby has stood out as one of the cityâs top folk and Americana singer-songwriters for the past three decades. His fifth album, THE BEATEN PATH, showcases his quirky-but-thought-provoking lyrics and well-crafted timeless acoustic-based music. On THE BEATEN PATH, Weathersbyâs friends return to make appearances. Frosty Horton produced (he has also produced recordings by Professor Longhair, Jenn Adams and Mark Sloniker among others) with Sam Broussard co-producing about half the tunes. Shad wrote all the songs (one with Broussard and one with John Meunier). The musicians include pianist George Winston (who wrote a special intro for âOrleans Rainâ); guitarist Broussard (who has played with Linda Ronstadt and Michael Martin Murphey); bassist Byron House (Nickel Creek, Sam Bush); pianist Steve Conn (Bonnie Raitt, Shelby Lynne); bouzouki player Butch Baldassari (Nashville Mandolin Ensemble, Richard Greene); oboist Roger Wiesmeyer (principle oboist for the Nashville Symphony); and drummer Craig Krampf (Warren Zevon, Melissa Etheridge). âMy songs are little stories, small slices of life, things I want to describe and tell people about,â explains Weathersby. âMy albums are âlife markers,â points of reference along my journey. The key for me is to let the songs come when theyâre ready and not spend too much time on the nuts and bolts of the music. I want the music to have an honesty and purity about it instead of being formulated in any way. To me every song I write is like a time capsule capturing a moment in history.ââI love New Orleans and I wasnât about to let Hurricane Katrina drive me away,â states Weathersby, who also is a woodworking craftsman and runs a furniture refinishing business. âI have been working hard restoring Katrina-damaged furniture, so THE BEATEN PATH album served as a personal catharsis and healing process after so much devastation.âWeathersby utilizes southern Louisiana imagery in some of his compositions including âScatter Our Loveâ (âa tribute to a French Quarter bar, the owner Benny Barker, and all the friends I hung out with there who scattered when Benny diedâ), âOrleans Rainâ (âmy memories of this city and all the storms and hurricanes ...
| | Weinland Breaks In The Sun CD (2009)
Temple Of Humanity CD music
$10.79 Itâs uncommon for a contemporary artist to create a timeless album, an album that is both surprising and comforting. Yet after only a few listens to the new record from WEINLAND, a soon to be well known quintet from Portland, Oregon, youâll know itâs still possible. Their achievement is celebrated on Breaks In The Sun, the follow up to 2008âs critically acclaimed La Lamentor (Badman Recording Co.), and the manner in which they wrote and recorded this collective work.Principal songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Adam Shearer explains: âWe recognized the â70s-ness of our choice to book and arrive for studio time without a single completed song... and we embraced it.âWorking with close friend Adam Selzer (M. Ward, Norfolk & Western) and Badman label head Dylan Magierek (Mark Kozelek, Thao Nguyen) at Type Foundry Studios for two weeks without a break, sometimes as many as 16 hours a day, Breaks In The Sun was committed to 2â tape amidst sleep deprivation, whiskey consumption, and trust. The result is a collection of songs full of intimacy and excitement. âThereâs something magical about the way a new song sounds the first time you play it. Thatâs a feeling weâre always trying to recreate,â says Shearer, âand in this case we got it to tape as it happened, at conception.â The characters in Shearerâs lush songs are often tense, morose and struggling, but theyâre informed by a wry, celebratory hope ...
