Freddie Way grew up in a small town in the Northeast Georgia mountains. He began his singing career at the age of 18 when he heard about a local talent contest. Even though he was under age, Freddie convinced the manager to let him enter the contest. His first time ever on stage, Freddie brought the crowd to their feet for a standing ovation singing George Strait's "The Fireman." From that moment on, his musical fire was lit! He sang at every honky tonk, contest, event, and any other place he could find - Freddie Way had found a new love of music. Freddie went on to win several local and national contests, building his fan base as he went. He took an interest in the acoustic guitar and taught himself to play.
