Steve Hill - 'Old Guitar' From Hubbard, Texas, Steve Hill has always had a passion for music, which inspired the completion of his album, Lariat in 2003. His father, Walker K. Hill Sr. was his hero. Steve wrote each song while staying at his parent's home helping his mother care for his ailing father. Steve valued his father's input. Sadly, the master CD arrived the day his father passed away, and he was unable to hear it. Steve played two songs at his funeral. Steve says, 'My Dad is still my hero!' Steve's dear friend, Ole Sirjord, was another inspiration. Fittingly, 'Old Guitar' is a tribute to him. Steve met Ole while working at his lumberyard. Each day, Ole would teach Steve to play the guitar. In 1975, Steve and his friend, Lisa, were asked to compete in a State Music Competition. They began playing at various convention centers with 400-500 people at each venue. At seventeen, they performed at the Houston Astrodome with 6,500 people in attendance. From that moment on, Steve knew he wanted music to forever be a part of his life. (Power Source Magazine, August 2007) Steve Hill Lariat Songs | 1. | Hard Hat, Steel Toed Boots and Leather Gloves |

Lariat album
$13.99 Taylor Swift abandons any pretense that she's a teen on her second album, FEARLESS--which isn't to say that she suddenly tarts herself up, running away from her youth in a manner that's all too familiar to many teen stars. Swift's maturation is deliberate and careful, styled after the crossover country-pop of Shania Twain and Faith Hill before they turned into divas. Despite the success of her self-titled 2006 debut, there's nothing ...

| | Carrie Underwood Play On CD (2009)
Lariat music CDs
$12.95 Daisy in her hair aside, Carrie Underwood looks flat-out glamorous on the cover of PLAY ON, which is a pretty fair indication of what awaits listeners on her third album. Carrie is still nominally a country artist and sometimes will sing supported by fiddles and steel guitar, but this is crossover pop pure and simple, whether it's the thundering rhythms on the Shania-styled strut "Cowboy Casanova" or the succession of maudlin melodies on the preponderance of power ballads. Carrie takes a much stronger presence as a writer here, co-authoring seven of the 13 songs, and she's attracted to hookless showstoppers designed to showcase her powerful voice. When she sticks to tunes written solely by the professionals, PLAY ON does have some slick pleasures, particularly on the breezy "Quitter" and "This Time," songs built on solid melodies and ...

| | Keith Urban Greatest Hits CD (2007)
Lariat album
$11.65 Urban has long been one of the few contemporary Nashville country stars whose taste for old-fashioned rock seems genuine, as proven by many of the earlier hits found here. Highlights include the sly "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" and the wistful "Where the Blacktop Ends." GREATEST HITS was also released in a special limited-edition version that includes a bonus DVD of live tracks and music videos.
. 2007 compilation from the Australian Country superstar packed with proven hits. Features two newly recorded tracks, a remake of Steve Forbert's 1979 hit, 'Romeo's Tune' and a new full band recording of 'Got It Right ...

Lariat music CDs
$17.09 The Luna Riot has high expectations, and why not? The band has epitomized the 'do-it-yourself' work ethic by building their own recording studio and producing their own album. Band members Travis Smyth, Patrick Jacobson and Colin Band have finely crafted their own musical genre (which they affectionately call 'Fuzzgaze') by fusing thunderous tribal rhythms with thick, fuzzy bass and 'machine-gun' lead guitar work and then colouring outside the lines with sitar, Tablas, tambourine, keyboards, shakers and whatever else could be found in the studio. The ...

In the early 60's Johnny moved to Toronto and immediately began performing in a country/rock group called Johnny and the Bees. Shortly thereafter he joined another group called the Blue Valley Boys; Johnny's first professional job. When the Country Music Hall, hosted by Carl Smith, began on the CTV national network, Johnny, along with his guitar player, were chosen from the Blue Valley Boys to back Carl on the show. For the next 3 years Johnny played bass on the Country Music Hall and was later invited to appear as a guest artist. In ...
