Synopsis THICKER THAN WATER A faded photograph leads powerful attorney Natalie Jones to the bittersweet secrets of her late father's past. She takes to the sprawling countryside, where horses run free, families are bound by honor, true love really exists, and Natalie discovers her own past—and an enlightened future. ORDINARY MIRACLES Rewards come to those who are blessed with an open heart—a lesson learned by a young girl who dreams of a past she never had…and by a woman who yearns to make that dream come true. Tough and unyielding, Judge Kay Woodbury (Jaclyn Smith, Charlie's Angels) is weathering her own share of personal crises, including her ex-husband's remarriage and a bitter impasse with her attorney father that threatens both their careers. Now, a new complication has arisen. Her name is Sally Powell (Lyndsy Fonseca, TV's The Young and the Restless)—bright beyond her years, promising despite her insecurities, and daring someone to love her. A four-time loser when it comes to foster homes, the troubled teen faces time in the juvenile section of a women's correctional facility. When Kay's conscience gets the best of her, she opens the door to her own home, where Sally's unfortunate past comes to light as well as her secrets about her late mother, who haunts her dreams; and her father, Jim (C. Thomas Howell, The Poseidon Adventure), who abandoned his daughter for desperate and selfless reasons of his own. Ensconced in Kay's San Diego home, Sally finds a promising new life, however tenuous. Kay, too, has discovered the courage to face her own personal problems and newfound sense of identity by sharing time, dreams, and disappointments with her young friend. When her emotional involvement in Sally's life increases, Kay decides to challenge the sensible judgments that have defined her career and take a heartrending chance. Locating Sally's father, Kay hires him as a landscaper. Unaware of their blood ties, Jim and Sally find a natural kinship, but as the relationship between the three deepens, so does Kay's apprehension about revealing the truth. When she does, it will change their lives in ways no one imagined and open Kay's eyes and heart to a miracle that only one young girl believed was possible. A life-affirming film of family and forgiveness, Ordinary Miracles is for anyone who has learned how to survive the mistakes and appreciate the miracles of being alive. THE COLT It's 1864, and the First Michigan Cavalry is stranded in a Virginia forest, choking with smoldering fires and smoke and chilled by the distant cries of falling men. Among those stranded in this hell: the weary Sergeant Longacre (Steve Bacic, Out of Order); Covington (Darcy Belsher, Legalise), an illustrator enlisted to capture the Civil War in unerring detail; and trooper Jim Rabb (Ryan Merriman, Taken), who counts his brother among the casualties, yet still rides his beloved mare Jen with a true soldier's indomitable will to survive. Then one morning Jim discovers that Jen has given birth and by her side is a newborn colt, shaking and afraid, born to chaos, and clinging to his mother for life. Longacre orders Jim to shoot the foal, lest it prove a hindrance, but Jim—seeing the colt as a consolation and a reminder of the beauty of life—refuses. An omen of good fortune, Jen and her nursing foal join the team of men marching toward unknown horizons. However, the camp is suddenly taken by Confederates, Jen and the colt are stolen, and Jim spurs a horse in a long, winding chase and shoots the fleeing soldier to retrieve the mother and baby. The incident has left him in darkness, afraid, lost, and separated from his bivouacked brigade, with a dying enemy on his hands. But honoring the Confederate Reb's last wish sparks in Jim a journey of remarkable honor and duty toward enlightenment and untold danger—one that will test the spirit and courage of a country at war and pay heartrending tribute to those of God's creatures who are blessedly innocent to the careless ways of man. FIELDER'S CHOICE Life is perfect for promising advertising executive Phillip Fielder (Emmy® Award winner Chad Lowe, Life Goes On) from his high-rise views down to his Tag Heuer watch and Armani suits. No disruptions, no disorder. Out of the blue, Phillip's life is first shaken by the death of his sister Jill (Ellen Greene, Little Shop of Horrors)—and then by the news that he's been given temporary custody of Zach (K'Sun Ray, Love's Enduring Promise), his autistic eight-year-old nephew whom he barely knows. For a man devoted solely to furthering his career, becoming a surrogate parent is not a burden Phillip wants to carry. But as he and Zach get to know one another, two hearts open up—along with a future of unexpected possibilities, including one that Phillip never counted on: an enlightening change of pace called fatherhood. A film of life lessons, self-discovery, and second chances, Fielder's Choice is the perfect story for the entire family. A CHRISTMAS VISITOR In the small American town of New Chatham, Christmas is approaching for the Boyajian family. But father George (Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominee William Devane, Knots Landing), mother Carol (Emmy® nominee Meredith Baxter, Family Ties), and their daughter, Jean (Reagan Pasternak, Jailbait), have lost the desire to celebrate. Immersed in grief since the death of their son on Christmas Eve 1991, in the Persian Gulf War, George and Carol have forgone the familial comfort and pleasures of the holidays. But this year, George's annual visit to his son's grave has renewed faith in a heartsick father. Splitting logs for a Yule fire and retrieving old ornaments from the attic, George is determined to bring his family together. His wish comes true in ways none of them could have anticipated. It begins when George picks up a young man named Matthew (Dean McDermott, Brian's Song), a hitchhiker presumably without a place to stay. Accepting the generous invitation to spend the night at George's house, Matthew also agrees to a well-intentioned charade: to pretend, for Carol's sake, that he knew their beloved son in the war. But once inside the warmth of the Boyajian home, settled around a festively decorated tree, Matthew has a few surprises in store for all of them—ones that will renew their faith in each other and in the extraordinary miracles of Christmas. From Hallmark Entertainment, A Christmas Visitor is a holiday gift of undying love and faith for the entire family. ANGEL IN THE FAMILY Sarah Bishop (Tracey Needham, TV's Jag) and her estranged sister Beth (Natasha Gregson Wagner, High Fidelity) are reunited after their father Buddy (Ronny Cox, Total Recall) suffers a mild stroke. Buddy, who's never accepted the loss of his wife Lorraine (Meredith Baxter, TV's Family Ties), wants only one thing—to return home for Christmas. With sweet memories of a life gone by, Sarah makes an impossible wish that her mother could be there, too. By morning, it is as if a winter prayer has been answered. Bearing a message of hope, healing, and everlasting love, a miracle has arrived… Not Rated; Not Rated - Violence; Not Rated - Violence, Profanity; Not Rated; Not Rated; Not Rated / Available in Canada
