Closed Captioned; Widescreen; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles; French Subtitles; Blue Ray HD-DVD En route from Russia to the United States on Air Force One, President James Marshall (Harrison Ford), his wife and daughter, and other passengers are taken hostage by a gang of wild-eyed Kazakhstanian separatist radicals led by the cunning Korchunov (Gary Oldman). Fortunately, this Chief Executive is a decorated Vietnam vet who knows his way around hand-to-hand combat and firearms. Bargain? Never! As the president fights to subdue the hijackers and ground the plane, his Cabinet fights to keep the nation together. President James Marshall (Harrison Ford) is one of the most respected leaders in the history of America. When Kazakhstanian separatists commit atrocities on their own people, Marshall authorizes a guerrilla mission to take their leader, General Radek (Jürgen Prochnow), into custody and restore the democratic regime. In his speech afterward, the president vows never to let America hesitate again when dealing with terrorists. However, that's before a group of them, led by the ruthless Korchunov (Gary Oldman) take over his own flight on Air Force One, with his wife and young daughter also on board. President Marshall, a decorated Vietnam veteran, becomes a one-man vigilante force in his efforts to free his family and the other hostages, retake the plane, and thwart the hijackers. Director Wolfgang Petersen's thrilling film is supported by an excellent ensemble cast, which includes William H. Macy, Philip Baker Hall, and Glenn Close as Kathryn Bennett, the vice president who must hold the Cabinet together in Marshall's absence. Theatrical release: July 25, 1997.
The film was shot with the cooperation of the Department of Defense, the Department of the Air Force, the Department of the Army, and the National Guard.
The production was allowed to use CNN's actual Los Angeles studio for its mock CNN segments.
Director Wolfgang Petersen again uses actor Jurgen Prochnow--the German U-boat captain in his film DAS BOOT--this time as Kazakhstan leader Radek.

Air Force One review
$30.49 Bloodthirsty fans of the classic slashers of yesteryear should be sated by MY BLOODY VALENTINE (2009), a gory trip that’s not just a remake but a retro-amalgam of the greatest hits from the 1970s, '80s, and '90s. The HALLOWEEN-influenced, eerily Canadian 1981 original holds a modest place in many horror hearts despite its notoriously trimmed violence. But even those who haven’t seen it will get the feeling that this VALENTINE sports an amplified blood-and-guts factor, one that brings with it the distinctly outlandish brutality and hulking-masked-killer archetype of a FRIDAY THE 13th installment combined with the polished chase scenes of post-SCREAM teen horror.
As if this gore-ucopia didn’t have enough spices already, its premise and structure are also indebted to such cheeky mystery-slashers as HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME and APRIL FOOL’S DAY. A decade after traumatized miner Harry Warden goes on a pickaxe massacre, guilt-stricken Tom (Jensen Ackles) returns to his quaint hometown only to find that a string of similar murders has started up. With Warden believed to be long dead, Sheriff Axel casts suspicion on Tom. It seems his old flame, Sarah, is the only one who truly believes he’s innocent. The movie’s horror-expert filmmakers imbue VALENTINE with the reliably enjoyable entertainment-trumps-logic of slasher films, especially in the way everyone in town--including the police--seems way more interested in proving or disproving Harry Warden’s involvement than actually stopping the in-progress murder spree. Similarly, beloved genre vet Tom Atkins (NIGHT OF THE CREEPS) is on hand to deliver a coolly understated retired-cop performance. But peppered in are some nifty subliminal visual flourishes and at least one off-the-wall sequence (think little people, fully naked, fleeing; and a box-spring-as-cage). The 3-D version is uncommonly well-integrated, subjecting viewers not only to hair-raising projectiles, but to an effective immersion into the mise-en-scène.

$15.09 FIRED UP (or F.U. for short) is built on the infallible comedic concept of two randy high-school football stars (Nicholas D'Agosto of HEROES and Eric Christian Olsen of LICENSE TO WED) who lie their way into a cheerleader summer camp (instead of the football camp where they belong). The movie's aims are obvious: push for maximum sleaze, raunch, and over-the-top hilarity with the assurance that the boys will learn some valuable lessons, fall in love for real, and even get in some good cheers. It's AMERICAN PIE meets BRING IT ON, and there's nothing wrong with that if the choreography is right--and it is.
The cast is surprisingly good as well, with Sarah Roemer (DISTURBIA) and Molly Sims (THE BENCHWARMERS) lending charm and good sportsmanship as the "lucky" girls who eventually reach the boys where it counts (in the heart). Philip Baker Hall (HARD EIGHT) lends his welcome, craggy face as the foul-mouthed football coach, and instructing the cheerleaders with a special sort of zeal is A MIGHTY WIND's John Michael Higgins. It's the first time directing for Will Gluck (THE LOOP) and he keeps the gags flying fast enough to cover any loose ends.
Football stars crash a cheerleader camp in this retro-raunchy high-school sex comedy.
In this comedy, Eric Christian Olsen (NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE) and Nicholas D'Agosto (HEROES) star as unmotivated football stars who switch to cheerleading when they realize they can go to camp with 300 girls. FIRED UP also stars Sarah Roemer (DISTRUBIA), Annalynne McCord (90210), and the always hilarious John Michael Higgins (FRED CLAUS).
