| | Katy Perry One Of The Boys CD - Import Katy Perry Discography of CDs
Katy Perry is the late 2000s version of the sassy pop-rocker wielding girl power like an Uzi. Blending elements of Alanis Morissette, Britney Spears, and Gwen Stefani, Perry's 2008 debut, ONE OF THE BOYS, bashes metrosexuals ("Ur So Gay"), flaunts lesbian experimentation ("I Kissed a Girl"), and celebrates spontaneous road trips ("Waking Up in Vegas"). Thanks to a cadre of top-shelf producers, including Desmond Child, Dave Stewart, and Glen Ballard (who also produced Morissette), ONE OF THE BOYS glitters like spun cotton candy, but it's Perry's bold, topical songs and in-your-face attitude that help the album pack a punch.
Japanese edition includes three bonus tracks and exclusive artwork. EMI. 2009.

One Of The Boys
$11.18 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern ...

One Of The Boys
$16.45 It was 1992 and a white light illuminated a sultry young singer on a black-shrouded stage. Asked to perform the famous song, "Summertime", Chelsea Nichole engulfed the crowd and in that instant found her element. She knew that moment that she would sing professionally. Soon after, in early 1993, she was cast as the lead vocalist of the R& B singing group, LaTre. Though signed to an independent record label the group split up in 1994 as the girls sought to fulfill their separate dreams of solo-stardom. Chelsea continued to sing and write through the following year. In 1995 Chelsea was introduced to ...

One Of The Boys
$9.35 "Rock 'n' Roll Is Always In Fashion", the forthcoming release from Rip City's own Western Aerial is a testament to just that, that rock 'n' roll is not out of fashion - it's alive and well as always. Some will ask who Western Aerial is. Others are already converts to their brand of rock, which has drawn comparisons to Buckcherry, Velvet Revolver, AC/DC, and Foo Fighters. And, some will ask, "Is Western Aerial the bandfrom the Blazers' games?"The answer to the latter is YES.Western Aerial, commissioned by the Blazers' organization to cover The Who's "Baba O'Reilly", were seen throughout the Blazers' hometown games on the Jumbotron performing their rendition of the classic hit. You may havealso seen Western Aerial in a Blazers’ commercial on KGW that aired throughout the season, promoting attendance to the Blazers' hometown games.Riding on the wave of success and rise in attendance through the support of the Blazers, Western Aerial recorded "Rock 'N' Roll Is Always In Fashion".Featuring three songs - "There You Go", "Down", and "I've Got a Van" - Western Aerial's forthcoming CD is a throwback to era of 45s, with a band choosing to release a few choice singles instead of a full-length album."We decided to do a series of singles that we'll later compile ...

| | Trisonics Live In Stadelheim Prison CD (2009)
One Of The Boys
$16.45 Rock'n'roll in prison: The TriSonics play for outlawsDerek Singleton, guitar player and composer, is the "brain" of The TriSonics who's coming from Texas where plenty of youngsters learn to play the guitar in their adolescence! It is quite amazing the fact that he is professionally involved in several rock'n'roll bands for 20 years now! Living in Germany has managed to impeccably combine the American rock'n'roll tradition with neo-rockabilly sounds and build the exciting sound of The TriSonics. Accompanied by Barbara on double bass and Dim on drums, they altogether offer an astonishing live album from the Stadelheim prison in Munich. Highlights of the album are, Johnnh Cash's "Folsom Prison", Blondie's "Call Me", their smashing hit in Germany "Mystery Lady" and the brand new song "Solitude". When rock'n'roll is one's "native tongue", will surely know how to play and sing in the best possible way, like Derek does.Read some excerpts from an interview with the bass player, Barbara (read German version below):Your prison concert is reminiscent of Johnny Cash. Were you deliberately walking in his foot steps? BS: Participation is a very important component of any functioning society. We chose to play there, just as other people donate blood. By the way, the Bad Toelz Boys Choir performed in the same prison. I wonder if they were asked about the Johnny Cash connection. What's it like playing for people that definitely won't be going home after the show?BS: Well, you don't wish them a safe trip home, that's for sure, but that doesn't have any effect on our wanting to put on the best show we can.Ever wonder what crimes put these guys behind bars, or does that not matter?BS: Sure we did. But on the other hand, Stadelheim inmates are waiting for their day in court, so they're still presumed innocent.Have you received letters from the inmates or from other bands? What were their reactions?BS: We've seen a lot of responses, both from inmates and other bands. People ask us about it everywhere we go. DJ's greet us with "Jailhouse Rock" and a lot of fans have expressed disappointment at having missed it.Does Rock'n'Roll mean anything to today's inmates? Aren't they more into HipHop? BS: The prison population is multiethnic in nature. More than 200 languages and dialects are spoken in Stadelheim, where inmates communicate mostly in English. I think they probably care more about good ...
