| | Mozak Mama Africa CD Mozak Discography of CDs
Mozak bore witness to poverty, ignorance, disease, corruption, blood diamonds and genocidal wars raging all over the continent. The immense suffering ignited the activist in his soul that transcends in his "voice." Mozak (aka George Efojie) now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. But this artist's, journey began in Esan, Nigeria, where he was born to a family of musicians Mozak’s father George Efojie Sr. was a prominent local musician. His uncle, the late Sunny Okosun, was also a popular African musician who influenced Mozak's musical style. At a young age, Mozak discovered his "voice." As a teenager Mozak sensed he could change the world around him with his "voice." Fulfilling his musical quest meant leaving his humble village and navigating a metropolis - the city of Lagos, Nigeria. Surviving on the streets of Lagos, alone with no family or friends, he saved some money to buy a guitar and taught himself how to play it. Eventually with a little help from new friends Mozak mastered the instrument furthering him on his musical quest.Hanging out at Fela Kuti’s club (the “Shrine”) Mozak befriend guitar master Majek Fashek. Fela Kuti’s band needed a new guitar player - just the break he needed. With a small dream as his motivation - Mozak ultimately became a member of the legendary Fela Kuti and Egypt 80 band for four years. In the 90’s, Fela Kuti and the Egypt 80 band embarked on a 40 city tour which took them to the US. Mozak saw opportunity in the USA, so he said good-bye to his band mates. Mozak played with several bands traveling to New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and Atlanta. In 2007, Mozak was signed to American music label Cabaña Entertainment. The president of Cabana Entertainment liked Mozak’s fusion sound and the opportunity to use his "voice" for change. Mozak’s musical style can be defined as a fusion of Afrobeat, Reggae and Jazz. His influences obviously include his first mentors the late Fela Kuti and Jamaican Peter Tosh. Additionally, legendary artists Lucky Dube and Sunny Okosun. | | Bob Marley Burnin': Deluxe Edition CDs (1973) Remastered; Deluxe Edition; Digipak
Mama Africa CD music
$19.59 Released just six months after CATCH A FIRE, BURNIN' is the equal of its predecessor in its musical focus and passion, yet it contains--arguably--an even better batch of songs. Leaner, tighter, and simultaneously more hard-hitting and more hook-oriented than the songs on CATCH A FIRE, the set list here dazzles. Two tracks in particular, the inspirational civil rights anthem "Get Up, Stand Up" and the story-song "I Shot the Sheriff," are among the best songs Bob Marley ever wrote. The uncompromising tone of the former reveals the band's militant streak and their allegiance to human freedoms, while the latter, on a languid, mid-tempo groove, is an allegory that shows Marley's growing versatility as a first-rate songwriter (the song later became a number one hit for Eric Clapton).
BURNIN' features a number of tunes from the early Wailers' catalogue re-recorded for these sessions, including "Put It On," "Small Axe," and "Duppy Conqueror." This material holds up remarkably well, and fits into the context of the album without a hitch. "Burnin' and Lootin'," one of the band's ...

McCaa-now performing as Professor Porkchop-is an accomplished and acclaimed keyboardist/composer in his own right heavily influenced by the music of New Orleans and the blues scenes of Austin, Memphis and, of course, Shreveport, which itself has a rich heritage of blues masters streaming from Leadbelly to Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Over the years, McCaa has been an integral part of some of the region’s most popular bands such as the legendary A Train, The Red Hots and MTV award-winning group, The Insatiables. In his different aggregations, McCaa has opened for such legendary artists as B.B. King, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Ko Ko Taylor, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmie Vaughn, Keb Mo, ...
