| | Herbie Hancock V.S.O.P.: The Quintet CD (1977) Limited Edition; Remastered
Artgerecht music CDs
$28.65 This is a specially imported limited edition 20-bit digital remaster from Japan.
This remastered reissue of the influential 1977 LP from the innovative jazz keyboardist features the languid, Post-Bop sound of Wayne Shorter on saxaphone, Tony Williams on drums, Ron Carter on bass, and Freddie Hubbard on trumpet.
With the cheers and huzzahs from their 1976 one-off reunion still resounding, the reconstituted Miles Davis Quintet minus Miles went on the road in 1977, spreading their 1965-vintage gospel according to the Prince of Darkness to audiences in Berkeley and San Diego, CA. In doing so, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams, plus interloper Freddie Hubbard seem to pick up where they left ...
| | Kra Guttural Shock CD (2004)
Artgerecht songs
$14.79 The Kra StoryHistory:The name Kra was invented by Hans Sandvall, who also played Rommelpot on the first Kra 45 rpm single. The first single was the result of a compositioncompetition in the Finnish Broadcasting Corporation, YLE in the autumn of 1979. The group with the new name Kra won and thus were allowed a day (!) in a 4-track studio to cut AND mix theirfirst single. Since the first single got quite a lot of airplay, Reijo Lainelaand Stäni Steinbock decided to record another single, with one song by each of them, and when that single too was successful, a third one, also with one Reijo sideand one Stäni side. After that, Kra felt ready for an LP album, which was recorded in1984, the same year Kra was seen on national TV in Finland for the first time. The LP "Doing The Impossibull" was elected "The LP of the year" by YLE and freelance journalist Mikael Wiik, and also got quite a lot of airplay in Finland. Now it was Kra's drummer's Lasse Lundbom's turn to take an initiative for the next single, because "La Balena" was his composition. On the other side of the single (Kra never called their single sides "A" or "B" since they always felt both sides contained their best material) was "Dragon Train" by Stäni Steinbock. Soon after that Lasse left Kra, but with a new drummer,Robert Persson, and a new bassist, Jaïr-Rôhm Wells, Kra cut a new LP album "Still Going Sproing"KRA performed once again on Finnish National TV, and on Swedish Radio in a Live broadcast, but after that Stäni Steinbock, who had almost been assassinated on his job as a taxi driver in Stockholm, Sweden, got a job offer he couldn't refuse: Sound Designer for amunicipal theatre in the city of Vaasa, Finland. This job effectively stopped him from keeping Kra active, so during the 11 years heserved there, Kra was put on ice. In the year 2000, though, it was time for a 20-year celebration, so Stäni and Reijo wrote somenew material for a 20-year anniversary celebration single, which by then had got the meaning of "a CD with less than 20 minutes of sound on it". Thus started a bit of a new lease of life for Kra, who also performed the new Lainela-Steinbock song "Tribal Pursuit" on Finnish National TV, and soon afterwards were invited by the YLE to use their studio and the same producer, Calle Lindholm, who produced their first single, for recording their new sub-20-minute CD,christened by Reijo to "Guttural Shock". It is now, dear internet surfers, this very CD that's for sale on CD Baby, and we absolutely agree with the people who call it the best we've ever done, sowhy not have a listen and BUY THE CD!! NOW!! | | Graceful Degradation Woe And Beauty CD (2009)
Artgerecht album
$13.15 Graceful Degradation is an original, alternative, rock 'n roll band. They've been compared to Bush and incorporate musical styles similar to bands such as Stone Temple Pilots and Sound Garden. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Graceful Degradation formed in late 2005 and was founded by Erick Sanchez (lead guitar) and Stephen Brown (bass guitar). In 2006, drummer, Jason Allie joined the band, followed by vocalist Nicole Heffington, in early 2007. The band's goal is simple...writing and performing original rock n roll music without comprimising integrity or creativity. From the very beginning it seemed as though the band members were meant to find each other. Erick, former guitarist of The Divine, had just moved to Phoenix from Anaheim and was looking to form a new band. He found Stephen Brown, who had recently left a reggae project in search of something a little more rockin'. Stephen and Erick connected immediately and luckily found Jason, a hard core, experienced drummer, with heavy bands such as Brokejaw and Goatheadthorn under his belt. A few months later, they auditioned Nicole, who was finishing up an acoustic duo project of 7 years called Almostblu, and after a few sessions, decided to make her the final member of Graceful Degradation. It only took a few weeks for Erick, Stephen, Jason, and Nicole to get know eachother and started composing and writing kick ass music and songs almost immediately. After completing two demo cd's in late 2006 and early 2007, they started getting their name out and found themselves playing for various local night clubs and bars almost immediately. After a few more months of hard work, the relatively young band started ...
