| | Blood & Sunshine EP CD Blood & Sunshine Discography of CDs
Blood and Sunshine is the brainchild of San Francisco based producer/songwriter James Brennan. James started his music career in 2001, releasing quirky deep house records on labels such as Monkeystyle, Loopjunkie, and most notably, the legendary Toronto label Stickman Records.Blood and Sunshine is a far cry form James’s earlier work. While still quirky, the emphasis here is on songcraft and story telling, the beats are a few BPM’s slower, and the overall mood is decidedly darker. James has assembled a live band around the material on the EP and will be playing shows in San Francisco and along the west coast while finishing material for Blood and Sunshine’s first full length album. | | Rammstein Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da CDs (2009) Bonus Tracks; Deluxe Edition; Digipak
EP album
$17.79 Anyone familiar with the industrial-metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FUR ALLE DA ("Love Is There For Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album SEHNSUCHT with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE IST is a grand achievement, skillfully dividing its time between razor sharp metal rockers like "B********" or the opening theme song "Rammlied" and nostalgic, cabaret pieces that conjure the spirits of Weil and Brecht at a goth club. Best of the latter is the naked and haunting closer "Roter Sand" but little touches of a sinister yesteryear are everywhere, like the fake vaudeville music in "Haifisch" or the soundtrack strings of "Wiener Blut" which are eventually overcome by a guitar crunching juggernaut. This strange mix of styles is more effective here than it has been for about a decade, and there's no threat of the album becoming ponderous either as the economical tracklist and purposeful songs wipe away the sins of their previous album, 2005's ROSENROT. The group's loyal fans have remained with them through the '00s and have braved all the difficult but ultimately rewarding ...
| | Taylor Swift Fearless CDs (2008) With DVD; Bonus Tracks; Special Edition
EP CD music
$17.19 Taylor Swift abandons any pretense that she's a teen on her second album, FEARLESS--which isn't to say that she suddenly tarts herself up, running away from her youth in a manner that's all too familiar to many teen stars. Swift's maturation is deliberate and careful, styled after the crossover country-pop of Shania Twain and Faith Hill before they turned into divas. Despite the success of her self-titled 2006 debut, there's nothing at all diva-like about Swift on FEARLESS: she's soft-spoken and considerate, a big sister instead of a big star. Nowhere is this truer than on "Fifteen," a kind warning for a teen to watch her heart sung from the perspective of a woman who's perhaps twice that age--a sly trick for the 18-year-old Swift. There may be a hint of youthfulness to her singing but that's the only hint of girlishness here; her writing--and she had a hand in penning all 13 tracks here, with six of them bearing her solitary credit--is sharply, subtly crafted and the music is softly assured, never pushing its hooks too hard. Like many country-pop albums of the 2000s, the pop heavily outweighs the country--there aren't fiddles here, there are violins--yet ...

| | Joey Hebdo Prosciutto CD (2009)
EP album
$17.69 "adventure folk" is the latest moniker from Columbus, Ohio born and glazed musician Hebdo.Well placed in the pits of modern day musics struggle to hold on to something unspoiled and unforgettable.--------------------------------------------------------------I spent a year and a half swimming in and out of the vertical pacific coast, experiencing every type of persona and craft i could get my hands on. It was a real time of growth for me being welcomed with such open, and sometimes opposing, arms in L.A., San Fran, & Portland. I returned this past winter to the midwest to record "Prosciutto". All takes are live in analog on 2-inch tape. Sure enough, the endlessly creative studio venture proved far beyond what i had imagined. The result of the tunes i wrote out west lies before you. All guest musicians are local ohio folk. My gift to y'all. especially those artists working so hard to move culture along.i thank you for listening and allowing me to take what i love this far, i am forever gratefulhit me back with criticism.-------------------------------------------------------------------"What I enjoy so much about your music is your freedom to just "rift on a known score" so to speak. Your music travels like a journey, and when you play its kinda like you invite the listener to hop in the car with you and ride shotgun. The car drives itself, you only appear to be behind the wheel. From an artist perspective, you're just as much the instrument as your guitar. The surrender is rare... No definite notes ...
