| | Ellie Lawson Lost Songs CD Ellie Lawson Discography of CDs
South London Urban/Folk/Pop artist Ellie Lawson is about to release her much anticipated 2nd album named 'Lost Songs' on March 31st 2009. After a year on Atlantic Records and living in NYC for two years promoting her debut album 'The Philosophy Tree', Ellie is back with her unique blend of self-help style lyrics, intimate confessions and laid back vocal style. This new darker album was recorded in the UK and New York, unlike her debut which was made in LA with 'jump around' producer DJ Lethal. 'Lost songs' has tracks produced by Jony Rockstar (Sugababes) Future Cut (Lily Allen) and Yoad Nevo (Jem) and shows a maturity and originality in sound and lyric. The new album boasts 18 songs, a small fraction of what Ellie has written. She decided, alongside her writing partner and guitarist Dave Harewood that 'enough was enough' and that it was time to put an album out, at the very least for the fans of her first album to enjoy. With fans such as Ellen DeGeneres, who on her daytime TV show said that she has "played Ellie's music over and over again in her house and can't say enough about it" and Billboard magazine who quoted that 'The Philosophy Tree' was 'the perfect marriage of melody, rhythm and voice', it is clear that Ellie is not short of praise for what she does. Most recently Quiksilver have made Ellie an ambassador for the new high street clothing range 'Quiksilver Woman' and she will be marketed and promoted in Europe, USA and Australia throughout 2009 and beyond. This unique opportunity, alongside new Sony Columbia artist Charlotte O'Connor and the talented Anna Leddra Chapman means that Ellie can put her 'Lost songs' album out independently with CD Baby and itunes worldwide on her own label 'Create your own Reality' and reap the rewards for her determination and passion to push forward her own career and get her music heard. To hear the full quality of the recordings check out Ellie's myspace page www.myspace.com/ellielawson Lost Songs Music | List Price | $19.97 (You save $3.52) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Pop CDs | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7929393 | | Catalog number | 330025 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Mar 31, 2009 |

Lost Songs music CDs
$9.99 In the 1960s, bop snobs who condemned avant-garde jazz made comments that were not only uninformed and narrow-minded, but sometimes, their attacks on jazz's "new thing" (a term that was used to describe free jazz and Chicago AACM jazz as well as a lot of modal post-bop) were even mean-spirited and hateful. Such bop snobs loved to ridicule and mock the spirituality that characterized a lot of modal and avant-garde jazz; they treated it like a joke and a fad. But spirituality in music is hardly faddish; when explorers like John Coltrane, Archie Shepp, Pharoah Sanders, and Yusef Lateef were influenced by traditional Hindu, Islamic, or Jewish music, they were drawing on musical traditions that had been around for centuries. Spirituality is a big part of Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre's Humility in the Light of the Creator, a superb inside/outside date that is arguably his finest, most essential album. Recorded in 1969, this AACM classic owes a lot to the spiritual music of the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, and there are times when the Chicago saxophonist also blends avant-garde jazz with Native American elements. When singer George Hines is featured on three pieces, his wordless vocals show an awareness of the music used in traditional Native American religious ceremonies. Humility, McIntyre's first album as a leader, is a perfect example of the AACM approach to avant-garde jazz; while the blistering free jazz of Albert Ayler, ...
