The love of music………..and I know I speak for all musicians ………………..its deep inside you……….just waiting for the next lyric to explode out of you ……..the next note to roll off your fingertips. And then the amazing crafting and final production hot out of the studio. What a rush when you hear the song for the first time……………..I think back to my first chord I learned on my guitar and that silly little love song I wrote at eleven years old……………love……. what was love at eleven ………..so funny and fresh in my mind. I remember my dad calling the radio station at six in the morning and telling the DJ to announce to the town that his daughter had a three minute song to sing live , on my birthday to……………. and trying to sing at six a. m . ………. oh my goodness …….I was a wreck ………so funny . I am grateful …….. being able to be a part of the music industry . Sharing my thoughts with the world and meeting so many wonderfully talented people musicians and writers. Being inspired by far away places, places unseen ……..or only in pictures………..writers …………inspiring one another thru texting with so many ideas , it is so amazing …………the technology has moved us into another dimension. Trying out a two track cd was an experiment to me with Angels and Demons ………picking out the best material I had to publicly release hopeing to connect to anyone who loves music……… hopeing to be comparable to my first release Cowboy Shakes ……………..Angels and Demons was so enjoyable to me to promote that I am doing it again with Pinch Myself. With two love songs…………. both going in different directions with love…… the acoustically sad………I didn’t ask for this ………………….and then the quirky playful fun …………Every Once in awhile I have to Pinch Myself. To all the music lovers of the world thank you for listening ……………..and I hope you enjoy this latest project Pinch Myself as much as the previous projects …………………Virginia Grey loves you!!! Oh yeah and always thank you CD BABY!!! Pinch Myself CD music
$15.39 This 7Ts two-fer combines two albums Mud released at the tail-end of their career -- 1978's Rock On and 1979's As You Like It, adding a couple of bonus tracks for good measure. Mud's prime didn't last long, and these two records definitely arrived outside of it, just as the glitter fad was winding down, much to the blissful ignorance of Mud, who tried to carry on as if nothing had changed. This is the most painful on Rock On, where the oldies covers -- "Walk Right Back," "Cut Across Shorty" -- are silly and anemic, where they're paired with oddities like the mock-reggae of "Slow Talking Boy," a spangly overhaul of "Drift Away," and the turgid ballad "Too Much of Nothing." Mud is at their best when they get closest to the heavy stomp of before -- "Careless Love," "Who You Gonna Love," "Burn on Marlon" -- but those don't compare favorably to their earliest hits. Mud bounced back back somewhat on As You Like It, at least in terms of delivering silly guilty pleasure. For glitter purists, there may be too much disco here -- particularly on the opening cover of Bobby Darin's "Dream Lover," which practically creates a holographic glitter ball, and the KC & the Sunshine Band knock-off title track -- but this has a cheerfully stupid, goofy spirit, best heard on the delirious "1-2 Love" and rampaging "Right Between the Eyes," which surely trump the sub-Happy Days medley of "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" and "Book of Love." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
