| | Don Erdbrink Cat Eyes CD Don Erdbrink Discography of CDs
Don Erdbrink has been performing in the New England area for 20 years. During that time he has been involved in a number of original rock bands as well as doing many acoustic gigs. Don's highly evolved songwriting skills incorporate acoustic guitar as a basis with a southern rock electric guitar sensibility. An alumni of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Don has developed a strong original sound based on well developed songs, with thoughtful lyrics and catchy melodies. The occasional guitar jam makes takes you back to Don's slightly southern roots. (Is Baltimore the south?)All songs are recorded in Don's home studio with a little help from modern technology and some sweet guitars. If you like vocal rock with just a bit of an edge, here is a sound for you. Cat Eyes music CDs
$18.89 This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by DJ Richard Morel.
INNOCENTS AND ILLUSIONS compiles the albums RENAISSANCE and ILLUSIONS, as well as bonus tracks.
Recorded between 1969 & 1998. Includes liner notes by David Wells.
This double-disc set offers the first two Renaissance albums in state-of-the-art sound, which is a big help, but there's also a lot more than that -- the producers have augmented the group's self-titled debut album with the single edit of "Island," and the B-side "The Sea," a good piano-driven piece that's a killer showcase for Jane Relf's falsetto, as well as the backup singing of Keith Relf. Much more important is the addition on disc two (devoted mostly to the Illusion album) of the four songs that Keith Relf and Jim McCarty recorded before and after the early history of the group, as a duo. "Shining Where the Sun Has Been" is one of the most charming pieces of sunshine pop ever. The pair of 1970 McCarty-Relf sides (which feature McCarty singing), "All the Fallen Angels" are excellent pieces of spaced out psychedelic folk-pop, and "Prayer for Light" is a bravura Jane Relf showcase. These additions add immeasurably to the appeal of the two albums, and also give us a much better picture of some of what McCarty and Relf were doing beyond the finished first album and the thrown-together second ...

| | Jerry Velona Random Emotion CD (2009)
Cat Eyes album
$11.49 Jerry Velona is Boston area singer/songwriter and musician. He attended Berklee College of Music and has been playing for years in clubs throughout Massachusetts and New England. “If anyone is doing a book about dives in the Boston area, see me for research”, he joked. Jerry has written and recorded dozens of original compositions which he has performed with his band Joint Venture. He won a Billboard songwriting award for his song Hip Hop No More. The song was part of an eponymous CD released in the late 90’s which received national airplay including heavy use in several episodes of MTV Cribs and on an HBO special. Jerry’s voice has been featured in commercials, a cartoon pilot and on the song “At Last (you’re there)”, from the documentary film, “Lifestyles of the Poor and Unknown”. “The story of my life”, he cracked.Random Emotion is the name of Jerry's first, full-length album. The lead track, Leave Me Alone, was released a year ago as a single and is also available through CD Baby. The CD contains 13 songs, 12 of which are original compositions and the other, End as a Man, was written by Jerry's uncle Anthony Velona who composed many songs in the 50's and 60's including Lollipops and Roses which has become a jazz/pop standard. "My Aunt Yole had the song in her files. It was beautifully hand-notated on ledger paper by my Uncle Tony", said Jerry. "She told me it had never been recorded and thought I might want to do something with it". Jerry came up with an arrangement fusing a jazzy hip-hop groove followed by a up-tempo samba section. He brought together an A-list band featuring Brad Hatfield on piano and Oscar Stagnaro on bass. Jerry also enlisted the considerable talents of family members Ted Sommer on percussion and his daughter Kathy, Jerry's cousin. "I figured it was a family project and that seemed to be a natural way to go," he said. The ...
