Paula's powerful voice and passionate performing style have engaged many audiences whether it be live theatre or smokey Jazz Clubs. As a songwriter she has been able to communicate her life experiences to an even wider audience through several genres of music which include Jazz, Pop and Latin. Her debut album ' A Little Rain Must Fall' will evoke emotional responses from all walks of life as 'there is a little something for everyone' says Paula . For example, there are the Latin influenced songs, 'Time to Tango' and 'Cafe Rapsodia' which were inspired by Paula's recent trip to Argentina to study the Tango. The CD has 10 original tunes co-written by Paula and 3 cover tunes with innovative, unusual arrangements. Paula's background in musical theatre is present as she delivers her songs with a sassy, stylish approach. The last track 'Jazzin' in Me' is a testimony of Paula's life and her music as well as a tribute to her years studying musical theatre at Sheridan College. Paula happily put her musical ambitions aside to become a 'sister, daughter, wife, a mother too' however, the pull was too strong and Paula reappeared with a Jazz trio/quartet playing for several years on the local Jazz club, festival and show scene. Paula's television appearances include Global Television's 'Live It Up' and City TV's 'Breakfast Television'. Paula's collaboration with Toronto guitarist/producer/songwriter, Louis Bartolomucci in 2007 led to the birth of 'A Little Rain Must Fall'. The writing partnership came easily for the pair and coupled with an impeccable stable of musicians, including Guido Basso on flugelhorn and harmonica, Steve Heathcote-winner of the Wave 94. 7's Smooth Jazz Drummer of the Year, and Gordon Sheard and Marco Luciani on piano, something truly magical was born! Richard Paul Clark bio;Born and raised in the 'thin air' (10k feet +) towns of Colorado and from his upbringing by his parents; his mom, once a New York City opera singer and his dad, once a Trappist monk in Kentucky, Clark brings an artistic and contemplative dimension to his music. The strong, yet sublime modalities of Gregorian Chant can even be heard in his tunes. With his family's encouragement, he pursued his passion of music, performing in bands professionally and in schools since he was 13. In his high school years, he was chosen for All State Band @ UNC, Greeley, Colo., and attended the Oral Roberts University jazz & music camps in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has been a member of the National Association of Rudimental Drummers since 1977. Fresh out of high school, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and then Dick Grove Music Workshops in Los Angeles. While in L.A., he studied under Nick Ceroli (Tijuana Brass/Don Menza/Ray Brown), recorded at Hollywood's A & M studios, and gigged the area with Gary Meek and with the Country-Rock band Red Eye Express. Later, back in Colorado, he spent over 13 years and 500,000 miles behind the wheel of a taxi cab (both day and night shifts....), as he witnessed and interacted with every walk and phase of human life. He's also worked in a cold room of an ice plant, as a fresh fruit vendor for convenience stores and ...
